Upper Niagara River, NY Fishing Report
2008 First Outing For Northern Pike!
Wow. Fantastic! Went out on a charter boat (THE BEST - LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT A GOOD LEAD!) Anyway, started out fishing for Steelhead with pink egg sacks -- caught some real fighters! One jumped out of the water 6 times.... Then drifted for Northern.... Caught my first two on one pass..... (drifting) Incredibly AWESOME day! Caught the Northerns on the tried and true: my bait of choice: chubs. All's I know is I lost count of how many NOrtherns I caught!!! YAHOO....
Although it's not bass season here yet, Trophy bass is limited to 1 per day per person... caught a BEAUTIFUL largemouth - could have kept her (over 21" for trophy), but threw her back in to get even bigger/
The Niagara River was absolutley TEAMING with fish today: Perch, largemouth and smallmouth bass, my beloved NOrtherns, panfish, bullhead, etc. Western New York is THE ultimate fishing destination my friends!
Although I didn't catch Nessie (the ever elusive HUGE Northern I have hooked into a few times the last year or so), I had an ABSOLUTE ball..... Nessie's days acomin'......
