2008 first outing for Northern Pike!

Avg. Rating: 4.5 # Reviews: 2 Views: 1178 | Upper Niagara River, NY 5/12/2008
Wow. Fantastic! Went out on a charter boat (THE BEST - LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT A GOOD LEAD!) Anyway, started out fishing for Steelhead with pink egg sacks -- caught some real fighters! One jumped out of the water 6 times.... Then drifted for Northern.... Caught my first two on one pass..... (drifting) Incredibly AWESOME day! Caught the Northerns on the tried and true: my bait of choice: chubs. All's I know is I lost count of how many NOrtherns I caught!!! YAHOO....
Although it's not bass season here yet, Trophy bass is limited to 1 per day per person... caught a BEAUTIFUL largemouth - could have kept her (over 21" for trophy), but threw her back in to get even bigger/
The Niagara River was absolutley TEAMING with fish today: Perch, largemouth and smallmouth bass, my beloved NOrtherns, panfish, bullhead, etc. Western New York is THE ultimate fishing destination my friends!
Although I didn't catch Nessie (the ever elusive HUGE Northern I have hooked into a few times the last year or so), I had an ABSOLUTE ball..... Nessie's days acomin'...... | Map It

Like your walleyes do you, try Strawberry island this month. Be careful as the water is shallow getting into the cove. I think you will be rewarded, cast a tiger rapala. |

Hi All,
This is just me testing out the send group message functionality. Its been a while since Ive sent out a group message, and I want to test out a fix I just made to the functionality to ensure prompt message delivery and email alerts. Everything should be working perfect now.
Also, for those who havent visited the site in a while, be sure to check out some of the cool new features like:
- Printing Topo Maps from the Map Tab - View Birds Eye Imagery under certain location details - The ability to blog and fully customize your profile. - Add recipes and comments for fish species. - "Watch" trips, locations, and species to see when users review or comment.
Expect many new features coming to the site soon!

The northern pike, hmmm,I have never gone for them but am intriged by there fighting nature,I have really just started getting my feet wet with fresh water, the only fish I have really gone for until this season was catfish in virgina,I am from a saltwater fishing family and was never a big freshwater until I pulled in my first striper in the rappohannock river 1 year ago,any techniques you are willing to share would be great, good luck and hope you enjoy your saltwater adventure this summer, thanx for the trout tip,I will try it next time out, Jesse James |

Hi Marcy,
Right now you can either send the user a personal message or you can comment on your own trip by clicking clicking "View Trip" then going to the trip comments.
Once I get a chance I will be reorganizing almost the entire site to make it easier to use, so this is an item ill put on my list of things to do.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
