re: target species here in MA, it's mainly largemouths, but will occasionally target panfish or trout. I'd love to catch some smallies too. I used to fish smallies in the clear streams in NE Oklahoma. I'd also go after walleyes back when I lived there... A few years ago I had a really serious back surgery, so I'm pretty limited now in what I can do... I can usually only fish for an hour or 2 at the most, so I stick pretty close to home. |

you can go on a charter for black sea bass. I went out on a friends boat about a month and a half ago out in buzzards bay and caught a bunch of them on chunks of mackeral. but I've read they love fresh squid, and surf clams. they say they like the same habitats as tautog, and I can catch good keeper size tautog from shore, so I'm hoping I can land some keeper BSB from where I tautog fish, seeing as how I no longer have access to a boat anymore. |

Hey jason, Thanks for the heads up mate. Next time I get chance to head out I'd be glad to team up.... Ive found a couple of good spots around the Lowell area and have found that most of the main carp population is in the Conneticut and Merrimac rivers which is kinda of a hike for me in Dover. So any local spots would be a bonus. I will let you know.... Take care Simon |
