The boat launch site by the motel is locked and closed to the public. The only boaters allowed to use this launch are lake property owners that belong to the Goodyear Lake Association. This will make the lake safer and cleaner for GLA members to enjoy.
The Otsego county sheriffs boat does not patrol north of the Portlandville bridge anymore.The sheriff put a mast on the boat that makes it too big to get under te bridge. Instead of taking the mast down the sheriff just gave up on patroling half the water ways in the town of Milford. NYS boating law violators in this area don't care about you, your boat or your property and the sheriff doesn't care eather.
