Don,appreciate the info very much, thank you.I'm definetely leaning towards Crystal Lake. The part about the salmon surely sounds interesting. As we get closer to kick-off I'll let you know one way or the other and yeah I'll have the yak with me so I shouldn't be hard to spot, thanks again.

I'm giving some thought to opening day on Crystal lake myself actually.I'm guessing that the attraction there would be large hatchery raised trout? This will be my first opening day in Connecticut and while I've been doing alot of studying on the fishing here,I haven't spent alot of time on the water or been to many different bodies of water, been mainly fishing the ct. river. From what I can tell,CT has a very large trout program. Now,I gotta tell ya,the idea of soaking a glowing cheeseball or a powerbait under a bobber doesn't appeal much to me.I'm from Chicago and the only trout we have there are in Lake Michigan and only accessable from shore in the early spring. Will those hatchery trout hit lures?what's a good tactic to use or more to the point, what would your plan of attack be on opening day?,if you don't mind me asking that is.Rapalas?Spoons?Spinners?Maybe shiners for the big ones? It's still a toss up between Crystal and any lake that has walleye or pike in it.Doesn't seem to be many walleye up here, being from the midwest,I'd love to get me a mess of Walters! But if you were to assure me that Crystal Lake is the place to be I'd see you there! Thanks Don.-Everett

hey Don,I've noticed from your pictures that you do alot of kayak fishing,I'm thinking of getting into that myself and I was wondering if you could answer a question for me.What makes a more stable fishing platform,a sit on top ocean style kayak or one that you sit inside?Any advice or tips would be very helpful, thank you.

Hey guys hows everyone doing. Sending this email to let you all know about a raffle for a boat. You have to go on anglersresource.org . The tickets are $20.00 each for a bass boat used by Mark Goines the site explains it good. It's the one he used on tour this year. The winner goes down as the owner to get all the warranties. This starts with the winner as first owner.
Also watch the show on your pc at 9pm free raffle of fishing bait or tackle. If you do watch it tell them iamski sent you.

I threw up some of the pictures. For someone who caught all the weight fish, you should appear more thrilled. I'll catch up at Amston or something.

just fishing for fun. Everywhere else I wanted to go had tournaments. There was only two or three other boats fishing and that was for trout. Looks like they did a weed kill there. The cove area we like has now real weeds in the shallows. Most of the fish came out of deeper water. This one I caught in 20'.
I will call you about what they are doing for Saturday.

They stocked 2,500 in the section above the TMA to the dam. Fish were mostly browns 12 to 18 inches and some rainbows 12-14 inches. I fished last Friday morning bewteen 56am and 11am. Picked up several fish on nymphs early and a few more later on a black ant pattern fished in the surface film. Rises were sporadic, but there are plenty of fish to be caught. Quick when the canoeists beacme a nussance. heading out to the salt later this week in search of bonito and false albacore.

The area from below the dam to Riverton has some very nice water and has a good population of holdovers. The area is open to all types of fishing. This section fishes best late spring throught the summer. The water is very cold coming from the base of the dam so early spring can be tough. The section along the island just below the dam has given up some very big trout over the years. Another good pool but difficult to fish is the Beaver Hole which is just above the intersection with RT 20. One of the best pools is just above the chair factory in Riverton. Take the road to the left of the chair factory and park at the end. Gollow the trail into the woods for about 75 yards and then down to the pool. Is excellent at night... but don't go alone.
