Well get out of work at 3:30pm on Thursdays in Hanover so set up an after work deal with a co-worker. Made a pit stop at Dick's and then my GPS got confused putting me 30min. behind schedule. Well we knew weather was coming in and cooked to get on the water asap.

We staid in the very first cove we set off in and on the first cast I grabbed a 3 pounder on a buzzbait. Buddy caught golden looking hybrid/white perch (should have took a pic). Missed a hit on buzzbait and no follow up hit on slug. Buddy was tossing a small pop-r and got a nice hit but lost the fish on a fouled up reel. I was tossing my burner spinnerbait and was getting slammed by 4 keeper plus bass.

Hit some pads and missed a blowup with again no follow up strike. Buddy starts catching some short to keeper size bass on a bettlespin/inline minnow type bait. Storm is rolling in so beeline for shore and at the pull out point we manage 3 picks before just getting off the water ahead of the storm.

Not a bad trip by any means for only about 90min. on the water. Some nut ball was still out there jet skiing as all hell was about to break loose in the sky.

Hit Ponki for two days of fishing. First afternoon caught a 2 pound bass and a nice pick on a ultra light with a minnow lure. Amazing fight on light gear and tuff weeds by bass. Also picked up some perch and a sunny.

Morning puts my daughter and myself on the canoe again with her being more in to it this go round. She managed a couple of red ears a pick and 1 seed a few sunnies and some bluegills. She was siked and talking trash to me about being fishless lol. I managed on the same set up as the day before a pick and little bass that I had her reel in (she wanted a bass). I broke off a nice pick at the boat on the ultralight say prob 16-18 in.

Late afternoon to dark went out with brother and targeted the game fish. I managed 2 picks on the buzzbait and 1 on a spinner a solid fish at that. Picked up 5 bass 2 biggest pushing 3 pounds. All on top water 2 buzzbait 1 rage toad and 2 on chug bug.

All and all a fun trip with plenty of fish. My brother caught 5 bass and about 10 or more picks.

Well I for one find it helpful to hear/read both the good and bad of fishing so here goes. I got out on my canoe on Saturday had about a 3.5 window to fish. To bad an hour of that was waisted trying to figure how to keep the canoe on my ride (just got it after my Dad passed) and then an accident off the ramp form the highway and a log jam at the boat ramp.

Well after all the road blocks lol I should have read between the lines and went home. Fished from an alternate put in spot and tried a few points 1 with a decent drop. Then ground and pound the shallows around to the bridge. A short ride up to the nice row of docks then over to an emerging lily pad field. One last drift towards my put in spot this time fishing the break. Lures used were a big Sebile swimbait, Spinnerbait, j9 and a lizard. No taps, no misses no fish. Only thing of note today was the herring thrashing about tight to the shore. But as any one who fishes here knows, that though tempting to cast towards, has nothing to do with a game fish chasing them. They just roam in groups and spook and thrash from time to time when the get to close to shore.

Cold windy day on the water water temps between 41 and 43.5 fished a few transition spots a couple of coves and some brushy cover. I managed 1 keeper+ bass and 2 quality picks all fish on a j9 golden/black. Tried jig,two types of spinnerbaits, a chatterbait and of course the old jerkbait. Tough day to stay as focused as needed for the slow presentation. Fished with my friend he was there for an hour before I met him he hit a nice one on a jig before I got there and managed another solid bass plus a little guy as well as a runt pick. His fish were 2 on the jig the rest on a jerkbait.

mid cape

Sorry no pictures and pond name (a friend of mines mid cape honey hole). Can say this though it was great to be back on the water. The pond was no more than 30 acres and no deeper than 4 ft. Water temps low to mid fourties, tried jigs, shallow cranks, spinnerbaits and jerkbaits. The Rapala jerkbaits (both the small and mid sized one) and a Rapala j9 got all my fish. For what it is worth the j9 was perch colored and the jerkbait was a perch then switched to a black/chrome smaller one did most of the work.

Managed 10 bass (8keepers) 8 pickeral and 22 over stuff ready to burst perch.

Hit the res with my buddie Saturday from 1 to 4:45pm. Got my butt handed to me. The wind was crazy stiff at times. Water was splashing over the front and back of the boat. I managed one on a minus1 in craw fish color. My buddie caught 5 two on husky jerks perch color and 3 on a large minus 1 in a chub pattern. We tried wind blown points and shore with jigs cranks spinners and jerks. Funny most success came in one the now flooded back coves guess the dam issues are resolved.

For showing me this great sport of fishing...RIP

First trip out on a boat since my dad passed away on 10-11-2010. My buddy took us to a place in Lakeville little old bog pond (not a fan of not giving full disclosure but when buddy takes you to a secret spot you can not give up the info imo).

We crushed them for numbers not much size (biggest 16 plsu inches at 2 1/2 lbs) on jigs mostly but I got a few on spinnerbait and crankbaits.

No mules but just what the doctor ordered a day getting bit with the icing on the cake catching a bass on Dad's favorite rapala j9

Thanks big man for getting me on the water

Mill pond on the Agawam river chain visted this pond for a tourney a year ago and got skunked. Did not do much better as a casual trip either. Place looks fishie but I have not figured it out. My buddy did ok (4 bass with 2 shake offs one a solid 3+) punching heavy mats but I could not get any thing going.
