Went out this morning for a couple of hours. Hit a 7lb, pair of 4+lbs and a 3lber. Also pulled a bunch in the 1-2lb range.

Went again with Badlarry this eveing for about 2 hrs. He was killing it. He got a nice pair of 4's and a bunch of others. I pulled another 3lber, a few 1-2 lbers, a pair of small sallies and one fiesty pickrel.

  • Hey Badlarry, did you tell everyone about the boat on the Sud the other day? Big Balls....

  • I would like to thank Badllarry and AEM for the GREAT Spot at the Sud.. Thanks guys.. Yeah we did well, pics will be comming soon. I'm on my way to fish with my nephews this am. They are as bad as the rest of us.. Great luck guys

  • Morning bite has been very good bait fish seem to be real active in the am which seems to draw the bass out.

  • Depending on how my day goes I might make it out Sunday also will post if something doesn't come up and I can go I'm having Sud withdrawls going out tonight to stock up on some Senko's look out bass here I come!

  • Bass will hit anything they think will fit in thier mouth hahaha
    I also like a 10" black rubber worm....And so don't they

  • It seems best two times of the day to go are first thing in the morning between 5-9 am & again in the evening between 5-8 pm.

However, I have found that when the bite slows down a bit and I move into another spot, that is when I get the bigger fish. Either way, you should be able to walk away happy!

As far as senkos are concerned, I will switch it up between 5" & 6" worms. Both have been productive. I am contstantly amazed at how some fish will go after something that is much bigger than they are.

  • How is the morning bite Best time tomorrow is 5-7 am right up my alley Trigger also makes a Senko worm little bit bigger and thicker

  • Any recomendations on brands, sizes or types of swim baits?

Also, besides the senkos, if the water is calm enough, I've a good amount of success with topwater baits at the Sud. However, those seem to pull in more pickerel than bass and the bass I do get from those baits seems to be in 1-2lb range.

  • I like Big Pickerels also. We going to throw a couple Kivas out there and see how they like them hahhaha Got plenty of Senkos.....

  • Yeah, that 10lber would be nice. I will have to share with you about the pig that got away on this trip. Was big enough where my hook was bent.

I've been using mostly senkos, but thinking of trying some larger swim baits to see what I pull on those. I can say that besides the lmb, there are some good size pickerel in there which as we all know put up on hell of a fight.
