Comment: Bass pro sells small floats for rods there almost made out of the same material as pool floats, they fit right around the rod. Might be another option without adding more ropes and that get in the way.

Comment: Yeah, I think I'm going to get some thin nylon rope to tie to all of my gear to the yak. That's what the ocean fishing guys do since you never know when a rogue wave is going to send you into the drink. I'm trying to work all the bugs out on fresh water this year before trying my hand at stripers next year. Clearly, I still have a ways to go.

Comment: At the rate you're losing rods to the water, I'd recommend coiled lanyard to pull them up when they go overboard. ;-)
