southjerseyangler got him with a hula popper. Cast out 30 feet and slowly worked the lure 3 feet from the shore the whole way. He got hooked about 10 feet from me. I almost got a big big bass - i know his hangout spot. I had the hulapopper laying still in front of a drainage pipe. I flicked on my flashlight and i see Bubba 1 inch from my lure - deciding to eat it or not. He swam away - I spooked him damn!
