bassinbrooksy 1 star haha. as far as not being able to use them id like to see the state attempt to enforce that law, it will wind up the same way as when we passed the law to decriminalize marijuana and cops didnt try to enforce it cause they couldnt. if the state of massachusetts wants to replace my 50 something bass jigs with expensive tungsten jigs then great but we all know that taxachusetts cant even take care of people who need help let alone another whiney fisherman. nothing towards you but i will continue to use my lead jigs and when they all get lost i will buy more and use those up too. the law has nothing to do with protecting 32 pairs of loons that noone has ever seen because they dont live in this state but nothing more than a consultation prize to tree huggers that are on a world saving crusade

jwall046 I agree that you might not get caught. I know of 10-15 people that have been checked in 2012.
Good luck if you don't get caught. But i have to say it is to bad people don't represent good sportsmanship an abide by laws.

jwall046 I'm not happy we all had to change our equipment myself.
Hope ya catch a monster anyway.

bassinbrooksy I just gotta add that yes I'm a great sportsman, I have a legal fishing permit and follow state laws, I catch my fish and try my best to get hem back in the water quickly and unharmed. I just refuse ( atleast right now) to just stop using jigs that I can actually afford in favor of jigs that will quite literally take food away from my kids in order to stock up on enough to use. Do some research on this controversial subject and you will see I'm far from alone. I don't fish tournaments so I'm not using illegal jigs in a tourney setting i generally dont catch my big fish on jigs I favor more towards crank baits and swimbaits to hook my biggest bass and the word " illegal jigs" is just ao ugly lol

jwall046 Apparently you don't follow state laws. Lmao
There is no way around that.
lol

bassinbrooksy I follow more state laws than most lol. F*** massachusetts and f*** this law. It has nothing to do with conservation. Once they start comin out with affordable alternatives I'm sticking with what I got. Don't get me wrong all my split, eggs, bullets ect are steel or tin so unless I'm fishing jigs I'm 100% compliant but I'm not tossing my jigs especially lucky ones that have cought me quality fish. I don't jig fish often anyways so its not even an issue. I like how this turns to a conversation on a pic lol, it should be turned into a thread topic. I know lots of guys that feel very strongly about petitioning to have this law rewritten

jwall046 Lead is not legal.
You can run around it all you want!
I laugh when people try to make something sound almost correct, lol
use it,good luck with it! I couldn't tell if you use or not. Nor do i care!
But don't say you a law abiding sportsman!
Lead is illegal and it's not our choice to decide what is right or wrong.

jwall046 Make a thread, lol
Any way ya slice it lead is illegal.
Not sure how to say it any different.
if anyone uses it in a lead free state the are not a law abiding sportsman!
It's black and white all day long.

bassinbrooksy It should be more about the length of the lure not the weight. A stupid loon can't swallow a 4 inch lead casting spoon but if its under an ounce its still illegal, wereas I could throw a 1 oz jig that the same dumbass loon could inhale and choke on before he even gets the chance to get lead poisoning. My point is the people writing the law are not sportsman nor do they care about the sport they just wanna get all obama on the subject and assume they are correct. Also like to add before this gets heated lol that I have nothing against you or your argument and I consider this just a conversation between two adults so please don't take any direct offense to anything I say as I can only articulate my views so well threw a text pad. I wanna keep it peaceful brother

jwall046 I totally agree bud. I'm not mad or offended. Nor am i looking to change your views bud. I think you are on the majority side of that opinion. Rightfully so. I cant say i agree with it myself.
How many areas really have a loon.lol
No worries bud. As i say good luck catching your personal best.

jwall046 It's a good thing to have a conversation and maybe to disagree but not get heated.
I welcome that about most maff
guys.
You state your opinion and it is what it is. it doesn't make us bad guys or anything.
Tight lines

bassinbrooksy Thanks :) I more than see your point and part of me agrees with everything you said . I look at it like this every store still sells lead jigs under an ounce because they are technically not illegal in ma, the law states they are illegal to fish in freshwater so its gonna be hard to enforce a law that only partially bans the use of something that you can buy almost anywhere lol. Wish you best of luck in the new year may your bites be big and plentiful ;)
