Just South of PA Route 104 near the Snyder Juniata county line. There is a ball park and a covered bridge. Watch out for buggies! I had just returned to Central PA and thought I would cast a line in this fine looking stream.
I caught one small brown. Later, I caught a 21 inch very fat brown weighing about 2 pounds-I was amazed as the home I have rented is less than a mile from yhis spot in Oriental.

Very cold so used a worm. Hungry fish under the bridge near the ball field. A local indicated these are stocked by the gun club.
The large brown was VERY impressive for a small stream. Markings indicate a stocker holdover. Very nice fish for this area.
Off US 15 north of Liverpool make the turn on route 104. Proceed and turn left at the sign to "Oriental". (So named as it was a Chinese camp that worked on the PA Canal).
Make a right at the old OX bar (my house) and the store. Proceed a mile and turn left when you see the covered bridge. I park at the lot at the small athletic field there-fish upstream and below the bridge.
The ranking score is used to determine how "popular" a trip or location is. It is calculated based off of a weighted average of the number of reviews and the user ratings. For example, a trip with 2 reviews and an average rating of 5 will have a lower "ranking score" than one with 10 reviews and an average rating of 4. This is because even though the first trip has a better average rating, it has not been reviewed as much as the second trip, so it is not as "popular". In the future we may modify the ranking score to take in additional factors, such as the number of views, comments, and photos.
