First Rainbow Trout Ever At Houghtons Pond!!!!

I went to Houghtons Pond today with my father and brother at about 7:30 this morning. I was thowing out a slip rig with an egg sinker and using powerbait. Nothing was biting until I replaced the powerbait with floating artificial salmon eggs that I found and decided to try. While I was tying a spoon on my other rod, I kept hearing splashes to my back, but thought it was someone just casting. I eventually decided to check my line, which had not moved, and instantly saw the trout and began the short fight to get him to shore. We didn't weigh him, but the trout ended up measuring 15 inches, a decent fish. I was super excited and released the fish after I removed the hook. He swam off alright and I went back to fishing.
