Comment: First of all Furnace is done for the year. They chemically treated the weeds yesterday. The wacky Senko defy produces there but you gotta get into the weeds for the bigger ones. That's just threw my experience there.

Comment: Wacky rigged senko type bait is the best producer on that pond!

Comment: Well, since I had the GoPro rolling, I figured I'd throw together a video of the s*** show.

First time I've tried the slow-mo effect on some of the hook-ups. It makes catching dinks look much cooler! Haha.

Comment: Definitely a tough bite. Caught all but one on a chatterbait fishing the edge of pads in about 3-4ft.

Comment: It took a few hrs for me to realize that nothing was gonna chase anything and I needed to slow it up. And when I say slow, I mean slow, monotanus, boring. As much as I hate to fish that way, it's the only reason I was able to weigh 3 fish in.

Comment: I probably spent about 80% of my time punching pads with a 1oz tungsten weight and zoom brush hog. One bite, nearly gave me a heart attack, but sadly no hookups, very disappointing. The pads looked GREAT for holding bass, 3-5 feet deep in many places with boundaries between different types of vegetation, the temperature was up there in the mid- to high-80s, and the deepest part of the pond was like 8 or 9 feet, so I really thought the cool, deep, thicker pads would produce, but... no luck. Tiny little bit of topwater action in the morning, but turned off by about 7:30am.

Also tried flipping and skipping some jigs under docks, but as Tom pointed out it was inevitable that I'd be fishing spots others had fished before. No takers there either.

Stratos would be proud that I never switched to the Senko, so you could say I was "learning," but hey fish is better than no fish so part of me felt like I should have Senk'd it up.

Joe's comment makes me think they must have been holding "deep" in the 5-8 foot water, maybe in some grass down there.

Moral of this one is to "listen to the fish" and learn to switch methods a little sooner -- didn't really listen to the fish this time, just kept plugging away at the punch setup. In hindsight I would have tried the deeper water with a buzzbait a bit sooner, certainly by 9 or 10am.

Comment: 3 pounds 12 ounces. Rough day for me. Fish were very stingy. My sonar marked about 15 but they were lockjaw for me. Had my sonar mark its biggest target yet but I have a strong feeling it was a massive turtle. This was my only catch of the day.

Comment: Tough day, nothing I did prefishing was working so i ended up dropshotting a senco most of the day and dredged up a shizload of weeds in order to get the 3 fish.

Comment: Terrible day for me. I broke my spinnerbait rod. The next best thing I had was my frog rod, so I used that. There was no frog bite, but it's also not the best place for a spinnerbait (too much grass).

Had a brush hog-type bait on another rod. Lost two of them while casting--they just sailed on. The first time I checked my guides, but all looked fine. I was using a brand new rod, anyway (bought it last night). After the second time it happened I checked again, and this time I noticed a small chip in the top eyelet. So it was cutting the braid. Lame.

So basically I was left with two options: senko and swimbait. Caught a lot of dinks on the senko, but just one keeper for one pound.

Tough place to fish if you can't fish the weeds or pads. =(

Congrats to those who caught 'em! =)
