Comment: So my father is new to the site and the Internet confounds him, so I posted his photos.

Besides the three fish in the photos (yes, we need to work on his photo-taking skills, haha), he had a number of fish over a pound, the biggest of those being 1lb 5oz and 1lb 12oz.

What he found that was different from at least what I fished (we both threw spinnerbaits), was a bit more depth and water between the top of the weeds and the surface, and what was probably the biggest key: baitfish. He said every time his spinnerbait hit the water, baitfish scattered.

So the fish were likely in that cove feeding. All were caught at least 20 feet offshore, nothing shallow.

Comment: For me, things played out as expected. Dinks all day long. That's the way it's been every time I've been there in recent years. Wish it fished like it did when I was a kid.

My father found the sweet spot, though. Thought he was lying when he said he caught three over three pounds. Haha.
