Spent a few hours last weekend in Alton - not a bad day, but really couldn't get out of the bay because the wind was so strong. The wind sock helped a little, but couldn't stay on the shad when I found 'em!

Thought I'd post a few pics from a decent outing I had in the fall. No monsters, but 7 nice smallies in the 14-16" range.

Until I get on the ice, this is all I have to post!

Nice tournament day - too bad we weren't fishing a tournament! Top 5 went 18 lbs 14 oz.

Found a large school of bass and crappie in about 16' of water. Biggest largemouth was 21.25", also caught several in the 15"-17" range. Didn't have to move around too much!

Volume4130 and I hit the Nashua River today around 5:30 in the morning. It was about 75 when we got there, and about 97 when we left at around 2 - bad day to take a day off work, but what the hell.

Caught a mixed bag of 10 - bass, pickeral, perch, crappie, sunfish. Volume continued to cast the largest lures in his tackle box to the shallowest vegetation in the river. I continued my quest to boat hawgs with small plastics.

(Volume4130 Edit: I was applying the rule that big bait catches big fish...not the case today, as I only boated 1 bass and 1 perch)

I've posted the 19" (3.13 on the Richter scale) that hit a 3" paddle tale at about 1:30 in the afternoon, a cool 97 degrees. Sadly, Volume did not make the board today.

(Volume4130 Edit 2: fished weighed twice and confirmed at 3 lbs 13 oz. looked fat, but I won't argue with the scale! and yes...I sucked at fishing real hard today, but made up for it by paddling us half way up the dang river with a stick because someone forgot the paddles and motor couldn't handle the win...)

My brother and I fished right around sunset on lake Cochichewick about a week ago. Caught 8-10 largemouths and smallies on different topwaters and soft plastics - nothing big. Then we decided to stay a little past sunset and caught 4-5 decent bass casting spinnerbaits (oddly, white spinnerbaits) in about 1-2 feet of water - the biggest being the largemouth. Posted two of them - surprised to see a decent smallie in there.

Hope to get out there soon.
