Interests: Fishing Fishing and some fishing

Ice fishing

shooting, target, pistol and rifle
About Me: Wife and 3 kids so I fish as much as I can. Still waiting for the big one. Biggest fish pulled so far 7lb Chain pickerel
Favorite Fish
to Catch:
Largemouth/ pickerel
Favorite Type
of Fishing:
Spin, but getting into ice more
Water Type: Freshwater
Favorite Lures: Spiner 24/7 and shallow dive cranks with some rattle in em
Fishing Rods: the everlasting ugly stick and a Berkley lighting rod, then some ones that ya just end up with
Fishing Reels: ooo cant remember right now. a few few spinners and bait casters, MY fave Abu Garcia broke, I am still trying to find a good replacement..
Fishing Techniques: Go big or go home. Spinner baits as big as I can get them. Black and gold or white with red, always trailer hook and dual spoons. I go deep and slow drag in the weeds for the pickerels or speed it up a bit to keep over the weeds and make the bass come up to it. I work it places they say only use worms. I'v been using alot of crank baits this season. Best so far has been some shallow diving rattlers. Medium colors and just working them along.
Favorite Fishing Spot: Billighton Sea Land of the fish gods

Grove Lake Holbrook Ma.
There is a nice small lake just a few blocks away from me. I drive past it everyday and have lived here for about 8years. I have fished there over the years and caught about 500 sunfish, a few catfish an eel and some small bass. But this year stories are flying about monsters in there so I figure I would put the canoe in and toss some crank baits. The water is very dirty, bottom is mud and just gross swamp smelling. average depth is about 3-4 ft. My dad on the 2nd cast pulls in a nice largermouth just under 2lbs. Dam there are some fish in here. As the day goes on and a few passes back and fourth I though I was stuck on more old burnt Christmas tress left over from winter. But then it pulled back, ya I landed a nice 4pounder! Made my day, Heard later that day a guy pulled a 6 out the week before. well I'll be stopping by there alot more now..

Canton Res, Canton MA.
The Canton Res is good all around fishing. no ramp!!! car top or carry only. You can use a gas motor. Great large mouth in there. We pull a few 5 lbs out every year. maid season the weeds get pretty thick but there are fish in them so worth fighting them.

Grove Lake
Car top boats only. very shallow areas but still have bass in there. Try near the bridge/waterfall deep and moving water. Also in the middle of the lake where the shores bottle neck on the left side is deeper and a river runs along that side, all of perch there but hit a 4lb there.

Bob,

That's quite a pickerel - it's the biggest goddamn one I've ever seen (and I've been fishing MA waters almost 50 years and have caught lots of CPs over all that time).

Congrats !!!!
