I have a wonderful fiance who isnt much of a outdoors person but likes what she encounters once she gets dragged along for the many trips. I am currently a security officer for a private company attempting to further my career in law enforcement.....

Fishing Techniques
(FRESHWATER RIVERS) Try to find a nice deep crevice if most of the river is shallow to the point where most is visible except the crevice make sure the water level is up and the water is flowing at a continuous pace and be sure to use meal worms with a #6-#8 hook with a decent size splitshot weight to keep the bait at mid to 3/4 water depth wher the big boys hang out....(FRESHWATER PONDS/LAKES) Be sure you are aware of the breeds of fish in the area if not make sure to be prepared for monster fish otherwise unknown and try to spend alot of time traveling the outside to the best of your ability if not boating and in the shade is where the prizes seem to be hiding....(BLUEFISH) Be sure to know the tides if off shore fishing the best times seem to be when the water is heading out yearly timing is everything also try to time the peanut bunker after the run of snappers for the sweet sight of schooling monster bluefish usually around mid NOVEMBER of every year...(STRIPER) The tide seems to make not much difference for these monsters ten 90 feet to 3 feet i have had luck with these prizes the key seems to be the bait in all honesty every keeper i have ever caught has been by using SQUID and its the truth but usually when the fish are cleaned a large variety of clams and even lobster has been found but the squid is the cheapest most reliable form of positive striper fishing..

Map it

This spot is located off RT 67 its known to be a dog park to most and a trout hot spot to others but be aware that your area for travel is limited due to the O&G corporation and the woodbury/southbury rod & gun club, this means nothing due to the location of this monster being caught, after you find the pomperaug river crosses RT 67 the park is immediately on the right hand side of the street make that right and just follow the road untill you see the signs that say no dog park users beyond this point and take a right onto a semi dirt road, follow the road which is only about 200 yards and park your car streight ahead and when you go to look for the river it is on the opposing side of the trees and bushes walk streight to the water then follow it up stream to find a key area where the river has sort of a river pond if you will where the rapids run fast and seem to relax for a stretch of about 80 or 90 feet you will notice this area has a cliff like section where you can visually see it is pretty deep, this means your there !!!! Usually this spot is great for me with the use of meal worms but this time i tried out something different and made out tremendously i used an old school 99 cent johnson sprite spoon if you are unfamiliar with this item it is an oversized silver kastmaster spoon and it did the trick !!!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO ATTEMPT !!!!!
