I am no professional but I love to fish. I have only been fishing for about 4 or 5 years and I think I am coming along pretty well. Each year my personal best gets better!

John Lopez's Latest Reports

A friend has been telling me about this place. It has an underground spring that feeds the lake, and they stock it with shad. It is all catch and release. So those fish would "logically" be big. This is just my opinion... Si I tried it out. They are an older couple that own the lake, somI had to talk them into letting me fish at 8am. LOL! So the place is nothing like I expected, based on appearance. But after we got fishing, it was well worth it. I only caught 3 fish, but my buddy caught more than 10! Most around 1 to 2 lbs. Until the end of the day, and I caught this monster!!! I made him jealous! Overall, this place was great! we had the whole lake to ourselves! Definitely recommend this place, if it is close, or you are passing through, try it out! If you have to drive more than 1 hour, I would pass! Just my opinion.
I don't know how to add the picture, so I will just add the photo and label as Lake Silver Springs. Check it out!

A buddy of mine and I decided to go back here. This place is awesome. As I mentioned, they only open the gates 5 Sundays throughout the year. So the fish are very aggressive! The big fish were there, but I could not catch them. I caught a couple of small crappie, but nothing worth the time to take a pic. I really just wanted to share this location as a good spot. And its legal!!!

Point View Reservoir is in Wayne, off Berdan Avenue. It is right behind Wayne Hills High School. At least I think it was Wayne Hills High School. Anyway, this place was awesome! I went with a friend, and we caught around 7 or 8 each. Most over 2.5lbs. People were very friendly, and they only open for fishing 5 days per year! I am definitely going back!

I went out here with two friends and the fishing was EXCELLENT! We fished for 40 minutes before the police came. They were the nicest cops ever. They gave us a ticket though, but thats their job. I can't blame them. Before they came, each of us had about 4 or 5 nice fish! Just be careful if you ever go here. Make sure you have an escape route!

Me and 2 friends went out to Clinton Reservoir for the first time this year. We got there around 6:00am and by 6:30am we were catching. The fish seemed pretty active all day until around 11:00am. Caught a few small guys and 1 nice Largemouth Bass that weighed in at 4lbs. 8oz. Overall, a beautiful day on the water...

It was a little chilly around 5:50am. We had to leave early while it was still dark to get into where we had to get. Overall, we caught about 80 fish within 5 hours. I know this sounds like BS but I put up a few of the pictures. It was weird. From 6:00am to 8:30am we caught non-stop 1 and 2 pounders. Then, from 9:00am to 11:45am we started catching 3 pounders with an occasional whopper. I caught the biggest Crappie I have ever seen, but I had no scale so I let it go and I will go back in a few weeks and catch it again. We had to leave because of easter dinner but I will be back!

I went here at 12:30PM and didn't really think we would catch much. I was DEAD wrong!!! My third cast of the day brought in a nice Smallmouth Bass. After about an hour I pulled a nice 5lb. 10oz. Largemouth Bass.

A friend and I went out trout fishing just to outside on a beautiful morning. Little did we know the trout were "on fire." From the 2nd cast of the day we were catching non-stop Rainbow and Brook Trout with the occasional Brown Trout. Most were larger than 10 inches. It got to the point that the 10 inch fish were getting annoying. Great time!
