Well It was a trip for the memories in boca raton fl.I really wasnt there for the fishing until I was up really early one morning so I went for a walk on the beach, the first thing i noticed were the minows beaching themselves, wich of course was the first sign of either a really bad thing about to happen or something was chasing them to do it,well the later turned out to be true, about 40yrds off shore there were huge schools of really big fish,so the angler came out of me,lucky enough I was staying with my pops at the time and he had everything we needed,to say the least we spent the whole day on the shore while huge schools of blue runners passed us by,all we used were silver 2 in spoons and every time we hit the water we were reeling in either a blue or one of the many tag alongs that were with them,I have to say it was the most awsome fishing experiance I have had and it will be with me till I am old,if your ever on the east coast of fl and see huge dark areas and there are mullet or minnows ashore get a rod and have the time of your life.

Hi All,

This is just me testing out the send group message functionality. Its been a while since Ive sent out a group message, and I want to test out a fix I just made to the functionality to ensure prompt message delivery and email alerts. Everything should be working perfect now.

Also, for those who havent visited the site in a while, be sure to check out some of the cool new features like:

- Printing Topo Maps from the Map Tab
- View Birds Eye Imagery under certain location details
- The ability to blog and fully customize your profile.
- Add recipes and comments for fish species.
- "Watch" trips, locations, and species to see when users review or comment.

Expect many new features coming to the site soon!

Hey Jesse. Fishing was AWESOME!!!!!!!! Caught 5 Steelhead, 2 largemouth, and I lost count on the Northern at 17!

I always use live bait. Chubs, preferably. I had previously primarily fished for northern pike with a chub under a large float. Today I fished without the float: still had the chub on a #6 hook, with a small split shot above the hook about 12 inches. I loved it! You could really feel the fish this way! Northern aren't super fighters like a bass or trout. They are just so awesome though! (Teeth and all).
With all my fishing, I prefer live bait.

Saw something really really cool today. A HUGE school of bullhead - hundreds of them! The Captain was snagging them.

If you ever get to the Western New York area, it truly has the BEST fishing! I was on the Niagara River, where you can catch EVERYTHING - panfish, bass, carp, perch, walleye, bass, northern, musky, trout (kind of unusual, they are usually in the Lake), sturgeon, gar, you name it! Talk to you soon my friend.... Let me know how you are doing. Any fishing??

Hey Jesse. Received your post to my trip (trout).... Believe it or not, this was my first time trout fishing as well! The big suggestion I have is one I learned: The egg sac has to be a certain distance from the bottom of the area you are fishing. Let it sink to the bottom, then real up about 5-6 inches. Trout are very finicky about that! Thanks for your interest! I will be fishing for my FAVORITE species: NORTHERN PIKE!!!! Yahoo..... Good luck to ya.

Well the one I'm holding was caught on 9-11 last year. She was 54 lbs. Had fun by myself putting it in the net. Faught it for 25 min. Still eating the meat. Used the roe for Sturgeon this past winter and caught 2 oversized, 3 undersized and 1 keeper. The size limit is 46-66". The largest one I caught was 9'4" long and weighed out at 230 lbs.
Well I also do alot of catfishing and cook them as well. Here is receipe that I congered up. Fillet the cat, skin off. Place about 2 teaspoons of virgin olive oil in pan. Place catfish fillets in and cook for 30 seconds on each side. Take out and chop up, place on 2 slices of bread with mayo and grab abeer and enjoy. No need for the breading as you are already eating it. Works just as well with placing in a salad also.

Enjoy,
Bob
