blackstonecarp So, bit of a long story here but. Had a chance to do an overnight on a local big fish lake. To start the night the kayak paddle I use for my canoe broke when I was about 40 yards off shore when I went to take the canoe out to bait. Then after I had the rods in round 8 I got settled and by 9pm I had a take..a small catfish/bullhead..then another..and a third, followed by a sunfish. Not only a sunfish but a sunfish that thought it could eat 2 16mm boilies...

Round 1 am the rods were quiet and I thought, finally I can get down to fishing! And that I did..all night. Fishing mind you, not catching lol...I woke up round 5 am and started to gather my gear as I had to head home by round 630 or 7 am. By 540 am I had everything completely packed and was ready to start heading back..when I saw a fish crash about 55 yards out, then a second maybe 10 feet away. As they sank back into the water they left some bubbles round as they took to snuffling in the area.

Right I thought, let's hope we have a bit of awesome left in us this morning...I opened my hold all back up, took out the one rod with bait on it, a snowman with a Mistral Baits pop up that had sat in the water for over 5 hours...I had planned to clean my gear once i got home. Anyway I cast it with nothing else directly between the two fish I had seen show, propped the rod on my bucket, clicked the bait runner, set up the net opened the mat and said..I'll give it till 6am...it was 545 am now. 5 minutes later the drag went screaming and I was fish on..landing this awesome blank stopping 21lb 12 oz mirror!
