bedlem The area is only reachable via a small boat; canoe , or kayak. There is plenty of fishing to be had either from boat or from any of the exposed land found during lower river conditions. This section is nice because it shallows out where the canal and river split, creating a deep cut/hole before and after the split. With a soft gravel/silt bottom and various weed beds to collect food, there are a huge number of fish here ranging from a few pounds with the chance to get 30+ pounds. This is the area I landed a 35 pound mirror last year. Which remains my personal best carp..though I am trying very hard to top it!
