Comment: One of the fastest fighters in Fla and awesome on a flyrod. You can catch them sight casting in the mangroves or they will absolutely smash a topwater bait anywhere near them. Another way is to bounce a jig at night along bridge pilings or use live shrimp with little or no weight. An old time way was called "swishing" and often produced big catches of big snook! This was done with a heavy cane pole or rod with a short length of heavy duty line or piano wire (4-8') with a rather large top water lure attached. This was done most often at night and the lure was "swished" around in a figure 8 near pilings and docks or mangroves until the maddened snook attacked it.
