My Brother and I hooked up for some fishing on Black Friday. Goal was to hit a Plymouth smallie only pond but the wind had me concerned with the ride down with the flatback strapped to the roof of my sedan.

We called an audible and stayed local. We fished a clear rock and grass mixed set up. Was shocked at the amount of green grass even with the low water situation.

Wind was stout gusts to 20mph. Had mid 40 temps and thought it would be on given the rain coming the next day.

Figured maybe slow rolled spinnerbait (my bros fave lure) or at least a crankbait bite would be on with the choppy water. But after first 90 min we had nada. Thought about pulling the plug but made stiff up wind run that put a hurting on the battery to the opposite end of the pond.

Found great looking lily pads still intact to! Changed up to more natural color lures and nabbed a petey. Switched out my bros minus to a natural color and he nabbed a bass. We back trolled down the bank towards the launch and managed to land several more peteys. With the wind laying down I tossed the jerkbait a good bit both shallow and out off to the deeper water but had only one peck. Never got the jig going given the wind. Launch was packed with dog folks so we passed by and hit a stretch we got blown off earlier and I scored a few more pickles.

Final tally was 3 pickerel and a bass for my brother and 6 pickerel for me.

Not the day we hoped for but always a great time out with my Brother.

Hit the same spot as a couple of weeks ago. Was on the water at 730am. Water was higher and moving quicker from the rain fall. Wind was steady to gusty at times.

Sun was pounding right side bank. I worked the sunny stretch with a crankbait and spinnerbait thru the wood and brush. No love.

Marked fish on the break and worked a point and the breakline with a smaller husky jerk without any takers. Dragged around some soft plastic but to gunky from the turnover.

Changed up colors as I could not see the lures very well in the water. Still nothing doing.

Picked up the jig and worked all the promising wood but nada. Went to a heavier jig to offset the moving water. Still nothing.

Doubled back to the sunny bank and dragged the jig around and threw everything. But alas nothing.

Poked around the spillway and ladder but current was tough with the winds so pulled out a little early off water at 10am.

Loaded up and headed into the office.

After thinking I was going out Friday to no avail and then hoping to squeak out Saturday only to have the tikes have other ideas (we carved pumpkins lol) I made a point to get my rig Saturday eve and load up the car that night. Hit a new to me little spot near work. It is a pond in side of a moving water system. Place looked prime and I had been prospecting from shore for a couple of weeks.

Got on the water at 730am and had a spinnerbait squarebill jig and jerkbait tied on. Water ranged from 1ft to 7ft with temps from 53 to 50 degrees. The sqaurebill did nada and the jig was not any better. Switched jig sizes and types and got through the vast brush cover much better. Got a 13 in bass on a spinnerbait in front of a clog of leaves lilies and grass. Then hauled water for bit.

Had few swipes and bats so tweaked spinnerbait colors size and blades. Finally settled on old faithful (confidence lure white w/silver double willow).

Fished well back int0 the pond and the place got better and better looking but still nothing doing. Turned to head back and fished long wooded stretch with jig had one missed pick up. Finished the run just chunking the spinnerbait and got a 14 in bass off a grass hump/rise.

Finished up near the out flow but no takers.

Rained a bit wind was mild. Really cool set up will have to give it another shot to make a final opinion. Off the water at 1030am and into work by 11am.

Was my Bday back on last weeknd of August. Day was kind of a bust waiting around to gather with the clan. Well my 5yr old son asked me if we could go fishing! Grt jackpot best gift ever! Little hiccup as he wanted to use the canoe but given it was 4ish and we need to be home at 630 for the festivities I had to convince him it was shore fishing or bust lol. We gathred the gear and some gulp and headed out to wade and cast. Was cool lots of dogs using area to swim and what not but we manged 6 sunnies so mission accoplished and memories to last me for years to come.

Whitmans Pond
8/14/2015

With the dreaded no sales tax weekend on the horizon for me I was able to get in a full day of fishing with the Mrs taking the crew to the beach.

I was up out and on the water to a SS no motor mud hole before 8am. Though it was going to be a top water through the slop day as the water was super low. Tried frogs in a couple of colors and the buzzbait no love got to back of pond and it was a punchers haven, not my fav way to fish, but I gave it a go for 45 min and nada. Wind picked up so I headed into it to use it as a drift. Found some open water and fished the defined edges with soft plastics topwaters and a spinnerbait. No luck hit the rock island on a second drift with a slight miss on the buzz. Just paddled in towards the pull out spot and worked the spillway with a soft plastic and finally had a real hit stuck it and thought for slight second I had a slob but alas it was just a chunky 3.7 with a ton of grass in his face.

Pulled out and headed to my good old SS spot Whitmans Pond. Was on the water by noonish. Made straight shot out to offshore hump worked top to bottom though I marked fish got no love. Ground and pound with nothing. Ate lunch on the island then hit the good old bridge missed a hit on soft plastic under bridge. Chunked and wined my way towards back of pond saw a huge carp. Work a usual good Summer cove no love missed a hit near small island. Said screw it spinnerbait or bust and manged 3 bass in 30 min biggest a chunky 2 hit the boat ramp cove for 45 min with nothing so headed home.

Been a tough Summer so far at least for me have not been out much but man the bite has been spotty. Maybe nxt trip will be a on the water before sunrise type one to change it up.

Great Herring Pond
7/31/2015

On July 31 headed down to Plymouth with a friend and his prowler. Was looking to score his first adult life smallie. Great Herring is much to big for a prowler....at least in the Summer. Had one of the worst/hair raising rides ever as we got douched by some wind waves and crappy pleasure rider boats and skiers. Mad a crazy trek to opposite side of pond to get out of wind and slowly and I mean slowly work our way back to the ramp. I got a largemouth on a spinnerbait and had four smallies come undone twice on the jump twice right along side the boat missed a nice jig hit I would like back as well. The smallies were just that no more than 12inchers. Unfortunately my bud got the skunk for the second time out in row with me. Told him he picks time and place next go round.

Glad I had the helm as he has little boat control experience and the ride across the pond was brutal once we got about 300 yards from the shore I felt relaxed and proceeded to just hit first dock we could find to bail out 2.5 gallons of water. Lesson learned on that no doubt not my smartest decision ever. Just glad I have all our gear still and are here to type about it.

Highlight of the trip was a a hot chick in her bikini and her boyfriend getting their rig out of the water right after us. As we tied things down and stowed the gear we got in my buds pickup and he being a good yet very quite friend cracks this line that had us laughing and joking all the way home. Hey Brian? Yeah. Was it just me or did you hear music to each time she walked back and forth by us....lol

Got out on July 10th with my flatback on a SS mud hole. My first mate was my 5yr old boy. This was our first solo out on the water trip. He has not been to keen about being in the rig fishing with his Sis and I but I convinced him to give it a go. Well we got our crawlers and my gear and headed out. I managed a decent bass on a chug bug real early in. But alas only had one more bass after that I had 4 sunnies though lol. He to his credit did well casting his Sis push button as he worked a little lure around. I had his sponge bob rigged for the bobber. We quickly changed that up and he had the bobber on the longer rod and got himself 4 sunnies. All hooked and reeled in on his own. Felt for him as he had a nice bass on near a shallow rock field and with only 6lb test on the ultra light he was cranking is butt off lol. The bass unbuttoned about 3 ft off the side of the canoe. Looked to be in the 2lbs class which would have been a PB for him. We lasted little over 3 hrs and he had fun most of the time. Hope this has more to come.

He did ask me to go on a rare Tue day off I had yesterday but with the weather I thought it best to go bowling instead lol.

Had brutal bout of pneumonia mid May that took forever to "clear" and has left me with little energy. Still not at 100% with energy but pushed myself to get out today. Was able to go with a bud and we used his pond prowler which helped a ton as it made getting on the water much easier.

Any way was a great start as on my first cast I had a 3lb on the chugbug. Then my bud dropped one off a rocky point just off the bow of the boat. It would be his last sniff of the day. Never fun when you partner is not into the fish when you are catching some. He was a trooper. I managed a 12 inch on soft plastic swimbait. Things went cold for a long stretch so we broke for lunch then I scored one on spinnerbait. Had tough unbutton on a toilet bowl flush hit on a buzzbait. Managed a nice chunk on a soft plastic. Then had a boat side drop of decent fish Then another 12 in on the same bait,

We fished some great looking stuff that wreaked buzzbait or frog and did not even get a sniff. We chugged across pond to fish a stretch on the way to the ramp as I had to be off water to hit a parade with the family. Right on the break a bit off some brush got my fifth and final clone of the day.

Fun day first time out since April. Tossed plastic swimbait buzzbait frog spinnerbait soft plastic and jig. Hopefully lights the fire for me to get back at it. Happy Independence Day one and all.

4/18/2015

Was due to work the odd Saturday (my normal day off) this week until a late Friday evening call from work freed me up. The Mrs already had made a plan of action for her and the kids and offered up going fishing until they were due back. Grt! What great wife! Any way couldn't lock in with my buddy so decided to stay on SS and fish one of our favs solo.

Go to get my rig at my Moms and as I am about to leave I remember I need some thing from the basement. The paper lady had just come by and tossed the paper on my Mom's steps. I walk up the steps and see 2 papers hmmm. Friday and Saturday. Light is still on on porch from the night and mail in the mail box (its 720 am so not from Saturday) and Mom is an early bird. The door is locked and the lights are all out but the hall and porch. Heart begins racing and when I cant open the door with the key because her xrta safer floor bar thing is on the imagination starts to fly. She does not answer phone. Basically I break in to her house and begin to yell for her. Nothing....finally I hear her say what? Phew! She is in shower slept late and forgot about mail the day before. Super though my pulse is racing lol.

On to the pond. Loaded up and on the water after 8ish. Full pool with lots of inviting stuff to toss at. Intel says jig bite is on so stick to the ton of brush and little wood. Non motor pond so paddling and drifting. Use jerkbait and minus on a drift. Nada. Spray around a small chatterbait and nada. Hit the brush and pitch and toss away anchoring ever 50 yds or so. I look down and see LOTS OF WATER IN THE BOAT! Ugh bail it out and fish on. Nothing doing and wow lots of water again in the boat. Crap! Half ass work some brush until I find a clearing along the bank. Pull rig out of water find the issue and Mcgiver some duck tape a sandwich bag and super glue. Relaunch and patch work works and really slows the leak and gets me back on track.

Not for long, reach in my bag and freaking stick a treble right into my finger. Unreal its deep and wont pull out. Push up into brush to get out of wind and stop being blown about. Wrestled lure out of bag with my finger attached lol. Wrap the other 2 trebles and painfully cut the hook out of my finger. Pull it threw and address. The bleeding wont stop and after two band-aids I decide to glue the wound closed. Wrap it up and move on.

My day not going as planned lol and my window is closing. Thoroughly work the "good brush areas". After losing two jigs tie on a more compact one. Helped a lot with coming through thick stuff but still allowing me to feel the lure. Feeling a mental melt down pending I paddle to a stretch that leads to ramp. I fish the minus and chatter in that area with nada. Then work a tree in the water for final 20min near the ramp.

Tough day at the office lol but they can't all be gems. See what nxt week brings if the window of opportunity comes. Then again job one is a more permanent fix to the canoe.

Metro West
4/11/2015

Hooked up with my bud and we hit a metro west pond. When I got to the ramp it was chained, no worries put in at street. Well 30 35 feet of slushy ice was between bank and open water. We did a quick run to another pond which was in worse shape.

We launched off the side of the rd back at pond one and pushed through the slushy ice. Wind was booting pretty good.

We managed a fish each on jerkbaits on a break line not to far off the bank.

Decision was made to make an up wind run to some wood lined areas. So out with the jigs and we picked away at the brush and wood. A drop or two and then I notice I have my pork on upside down to my buds after he had brought aboard a bass. Quick switch around of my pork and that alone upped my confidence as at this point he had bounced a second fish into the boat.

Well I felt some weight and set the hook and scored a 3.2 bass on the jig. Couple casts later on same wood popped a 4.2 on the jig.

Was nice to get out and even better to get a couple of fish. Few wind knots few drag adjustments and scored my first bass of the season on a brand new jerkbait purchased just a few weeks ago.

When we pulled out the boat the ice was all gone up along the bank.

Well hope to get out again soon. Thanks for the trip out Evan.

Was given the Day off in return for having to work my reg day off this Friday. So after watching my daughter march in our local Veterans Parade I went and got the rig.

On the water at 1ish water temps mid to high 40s. Pond is way low making most of my normal late Fall haunts unfishable. Managed a small pickle on a jerkbait. Caught another on a J9.

Drilled a rock and am glad I was sitting while moving or I would have had a cold swim. Know this place real well but with the water so low hazards were abound. Made an adjustment to floro (very clear pond) for my jig but still nada. Dropped anchor and changed it all up. Alt between a bigger jerkbait and a smaller one for the real shallow stuff. Got a nice 15in Bass on the bigger jerkbait in a rock field. Worked a normally great point with only a small pickle on a small jerkbait to show for it.

On my finish run to the beach I worked a rattletrap that scored a tiny bass. Wind was getting tough and had to abandon fishing and trolling so just made the run in. Off the water little after 4.

Hate getting old used to put the wheels under my canoe and wheel it down to the launch loaded then back up the modest hill loaded. Half way up I tapped and walked the tackle bag the battery and the tmotor to the flat ground. lol

Plymouth
11/2/2013

Well we get the canoe rigged up and make our way to one of the many Plymouth Ponds. Longest ride to date with my new vehicle and rack set up. No issues other than tough to fit all the gear in the car when having a passenger in the car. We had tough time finding the entrance point and lost some time driving around looking for it. Should have studied the old Google Earth better lol. Well so much for two ponds this afternoon (not my fav thing to do any way) after it was a bit of a drag to get in.

Was hoping to grab a Smallie or two and did not want to go all the way down to my regular Fall Smallie spot so gave this a try after some im with Rich. The Smallies eluded us and after an hour only one pickle on a jerkbait I could see the little one beginning to loose interest. She messed around a bit and then I said since we have to keep moving and nothing is biting at your worm and bobber may be try a lure so you can practice casting and keeping busy. She gave it a go. First small spinnerbait then a small jighead with a soft minnow type bait.

We hit some good wood worked the slopes and drops water temps in the high 50s but nothing. Very clear very bowl like with little to no grass and even less noticeable cover. Did see lots of giant beds though and saw many cool targets for the future after we went over then lol.

Daughter says Dad I think if we don’t get a fish either at the big dock or the those bushes then we are not going to get anything. I nod and say wow I am impressed as I agreed those are the most bassy looking things I see as well. Dock was a no go but the bushes lol aka very green cattails showed some promise. I got a small bass on a j9 and as I cast I saw some fish spook. I quickly toss her worm and bobber over and she gets 10in bass. Cool! During the ruckus we drift and as I release the fish I see a wolf pack. Ok wow all small with few keepers or betters around. I back off easily and suggest my daughter try her lure. She says ok and after few bad casts lol she starts to get in the sweet spot. BAM her first fish on a lure! Cool! She is excited and I am Proud and excited lol. We keep at it and I managed 3 more and she went cold. I stop fishing and just keep the canoe in position then she says that hey I have one. I hear her little Zebco 11 humming and with its 4lb test. As I see her struggling to bring in her biggest bass to date! Left them biting as it was a haul to get off the water and loaded back up to try and get out of the area before dark.

She had a great grin and hope that maybe we sparked something.

Memories for a life time.

Whitmans Pond
Well hit Whitmans pond twice in three weeks back in Oct. I work at 11am on Sundays so my bud and I were on the water by 7am.

First trip my buds battery dies before we leave the cove. Only one paddle and we are in a pond prowler. Oh well lets make it work. Wind helped us a bit then the rains came. Stupid weather man. Of course on a small vessel I decided to leave my rain gear in the car. Oh well we start getting hits and manage a few pickles and perch or two.

Finally start getting some bass on the minus. It is raining real good now but we have some action. I lose two nice ones on the jump off the minus. We camp out on a point off the bigger island in the pond. I grab a pickle and bass then I hear whoooosh. About 10min before I gave my bud a minus and it paid off. He had a big one on. She fought him hard and when all aid and done he had nice 4.2 on the digi. Long paddle in but though soaked to the skivies it was worth it.

Two weeks later same pond battery issue addressed, thank goodness as the wind was tough shortly after 9am. Much tougher day though. We finally figured out working smaller spinnerbaits through the spares pads was the deal. What do they say never leave fish to find them. Well with a time frame to get to work we did to be closer to the ramp. Our normal Fall hot spot was a bust. May have been picked clean by a guy that was on it before we got there but non the less a big 0 there. Wanted to work the pads in the cove on the way in but wind was just too brutal. We had my buds motor pinned and our now two paddles in full force just to get in.

Good times. Hope to squeeze in one or two more trips though his schedule just changed which equals solos I guess for me.

Dudley Pond
9/7/2013

Thought my bud and I were going to be fishing in a T with biggest fish wins. But I never got the memo that the location and day was changed. Oh well. After making the trek from Quincy we decided to just fish.

Tough day though beautiful. We managed 5 bass and 3 pickles total.

I did my damage on a chatter bait (1 bass 2 pickles) a kvd 1.5 (2bass and 1pickle) With my best a 3lb coming on a soft plastic jerk bait.

Covered a lot of the pond but never found a group of active fish.

Jigs and deeper cranks were also used a bunch but after no success the listed baits aka junk fishing was what it took lol.

Was able to carve out some AM fishing at one of the old school haunts. After my phones alarm failed to go off at 5am I got a late jump. Didn't make the water until 730am.

Water was very muddy and temps were already 86 yikes. Alternated between a plastic swimbait, rubber worm, chugbug and some soft plastic jerkbaits.

Pitched the jig a time or two and punched a few spots that had the cover.

Caught a small one on a Berkley Slug after he showed himself by eating a dragonfly lol. That was a around 9am. Went bite less for a long stretch. Re tied a few new selections and after going through a fishy looking and usually productive spot and no love. I was beginning to feel like it was either A) not happening today or B) a good one and done day.

Well it was happily B! Saw a small group of pads 15 ft off some heavy cover and all by itself. Tossed the Caffeine Shad over and just as I hit reverse on the Tmotor to hold my spot the line jumped. Big jump and a straight at me attack by Larry but landed a nice 5lbs 2oz bruised.

Fished the rest of the stretch and dropped a nice one at the boat on soft plastic. Again spent a good amount of time on usually very productive spots but alas nothing. Wind was cranking and made the long tmotor ride in.

Pond has changed a lot over last few years but was glad to get a finskie and be out on the water. The new transom was great the adjustments made to the bigfoot pedal and the new posts not so much lol.

Sorry no pix had some camera issues with the heat not to mention had to remove the hook from a tough spot. But staid calm got it done cleanly and off she went.

5/17/2013

Got day pass for Friday so took it and ran with it. This only being my second time on my canoe of the season I was happy to not be on a time restriction trip.

Got on the water at 930am had nice 2.5 on topwater torpedo after only 15 casts! Switched to a floating jerkbait on a drift towards the back of the pond. Managed 1 small bass on it. Then the action started. Began tossing the frog at fishy looking stuff. After afew misses. I noticed only hits came from red lilies with brush behind it. Slowed the retrieve and bang pay dirt!

Managed 8 larrys all of which totally choked it in. Biggest was 3.1. Had a giant hit in open water but didnt hook up after the fish doubled back twice to dolphin my frog. No luck on follow up baits.

Wind picked up and the paddling got tough. Switched to double willow and managed 2 small guys. Fished big obvious boulder but the wind forced me to hit it on different angle than usual. WOW nice leaping larry to the tune of 3.6 lbs.

Pond 1 needed with 13 bass top 5 pushing 12lbs.

Lunch then pond 2 but lost my mojo to paddle into the stiff wind at pond 2 so called an audible and drove to puddle in Hingham to try my new Bigfoot trolling motor pedal I installed. Well mixed views on the pedal see its pros and cons. In the end glad I wired it the way I did as I am taking it out and sticking with the hand control.

Was very lucky to not get wet or hurt as this pond was muddy water causing me to miss a sunken something way out in the middle and my motor drilled full bore into it. I stayed in the boat and had presence to save my tmotor as it snapped and cracked my transom. I held the motor by hand until I could kill the power. Glad I was not standing or I would at the very least have gotten wet.

Collected my self jerry rigged something and finished fishing this mud hole but only managed 1 expensive bass. lol

11/17/2012

Had window and like most with the looming ice coming headed out. On the water at 715am off at 12pm.

Water temps 42 43. New wall looks ok and the water is up but still nowhere near full pool. Side note if the winter is cold and wet there will be a a lot of new/old cover available. As things that are out of the water now should be covered and things that grew while there was no water will be submerged.

Anyway worked slow with jerkbait and jig tied in with the shallow crank. Very slow day had 2 hits 1 on a jig which I missed. 2nd on the minus which turned into the only fish of the day a sizable pickle.

Have to say so far using the new material jigs I am not a fan of the poor paint chipping of the jigs. Yes was working some rocks but man the paint chips off on the slightest of taps.

I just caught my first smallies last year. So to say I am new at Brown bass would be an understatement. But today I got back on the boat/canoe and my brother was my partner for the trip. He was a smallie virgin. Well we did not slay them but he manged 5 for the day to my 1 plus 2 perch. The younger brother beats the old dog. After a ruff stretch in real life it was great to be on the water having fun creating memories with loved one.

9/23/2012

Well another short AWT trip. On the water by 5:15. Punched my way out but no takers. Got 1 on the spinnerbait off a weed line then saw a new fallen tree in the water. Pounded it with jig but nothing doing. I few missed spinnerbait hits, one knocking like 2ft of slack in my line yikes!. Darn power boat deal again guy was trying to be cool but his wake was just brutal for the canoe.

Well got another little guy off a point then pickle as well. Worked up the far shore with nada. Work another point then weed line followed by one of he few sharp drops. Nothing switch to minus1 and got little bass off a flat. Made way over to the fall spot but water is higher then past years and still to warm 69 ish. Did manage 2 more bass on the minus but no size. Back to spinnerbait for the weedy ride in then over to the buzzbait for last stretch but nothing doing.

Finshed with 5 bass 1 pickle. Off water at 7:30pm.

Well got out after work on the canoe. This place is set up for punching now and I have never seen it this way. Not sure if it is deep enough for that technique but none the less that is the look of the cove and other odd spots.

Well was shocked at a) the people that made no effort to get out of the way or off the ramp as I and others arrived to use the ramp. Strike two the ton of boat traffic for 5pm on a Sunday. Any way chatted with a couple of guys fishing that caught a few but had been at it since 12.

I got two pickles on the kvd crank to start. Hit my normal fall spots and the fish were not there yet. So plan B chunk and wined my way around. The fish were batting at the blades of my spinner bait so downsized and got 3 bass doing that. Not keepers not a lot of action. If I went back again today I would try the matts and then some of the breaks.

After seeking refuge from the traffic in the back shallow rocky area what happens? A couple are following me in I suspect they are not sure what or were they are. Much to my sh
Sher-grin they wave me off and slowly work there way in to the area near the ladder I planned to fish. Apparently they live there and that was their dock. Lol at least I got out and helped a Father daughter duo load up their tracker on the very dark at 730pm ramp.

Got on the water at 5:15 with hopes of some good action (thinking top water) but alas no such like. Was a good stiff wind in the face in the first cove so I headed out to the mouth of the main body and used the wind and back trolling to fish the pads and subtle break. 1 blow up on a Rage shad. With some decent boat traffic in the main body I made a run to the small island with decent drop off it. Nada on the drop but missed 3 hits on a soft plastic swim bait but could not get any action on follow up lures.

Ran to the herring run but again nothing doing. Weather was beginning to look sketchy so I worked my way back tossing a chug bug finally a fish a decent 2skie about 50ft off a rock right near a slight depth change. He thought he was bigger or a smallie as he jump 3 times before landing him. Fish the brush and wood along the back edge and again missed a hit but no follow up on soft plastic. Losing confidence switched things up to spinner bait and buzz bait but still nada. Got to my money spot…apparently it was out of dough lol.

Ok time to drift in with the wind weather was pushing from behind getting damp/misty. Scored a keeper on a chug bug off the edge of a submerged island. And that was that.

Good to get out disappointed that it was not on or that I could not get it unlocked in the 3 hours I had.

Met Freebie at ramp he was taking some cast from shore, we touched base on possibly fishing together down the line.

First time out on canoe in a month. Goal was 2 ponds in the heat that allowed paddle power only yikes! Met my bud at 7am and we got going. Good cloud cover shallow low water conditions. We struggled for a bit then started to get a few bites nothing to big. When our money spot did not pan out my buddy said lets move around a bit. Good call we got a few on top off a point with cover. Then the big move "the drift"! We let the wind do its thing and wow double top water hits. Sweet mine went 3 ish his was stacked 4.5 pig. we anchored and managed a few more.

On to the next stop low water deep pond with little cover that was not out of the water. We managed doubles again but this time no size and on plastics. Lot of work getting around in the heat. And after a tough week for my bud (lost a family member) he got left at the alter by a nice bass off a choice piece of cover. The beast just pulled him in and that was it undone and hung up!

We made our way around spot hoping finishing up on the scene of the crime and after waiting a guy out who was fishing it my bud got a nice bass off it. Me I got hung up lol.

Stiff and sore but always great when you get to fish with a friend.

Quick 45min trip this AM. After my scheduled night trip fell apart last night I was jonesing to fish so I left for work early and hit the pond from shore.

First stop a rowboat was coming in right were I would have stood. Crap off to spot t2wo. Nice breeze coming in slap the waders on and bomb some pads and the breakline with chugbug spinnerbait and a senko. Nada! Pack up and hit the 53 bridge 5th cast hung under bridge. Get free retie and say screw it cross the street and fish the shallow side of 53. I am on limited time and it is choked and shallow so spinnerbait or bust. Managed 5 bass in a about 10 min of fishing all on the small spinnerbait. 1 keeper the rest rats. Oh crap it is 11 I have to get to work by 11 oops.

Well I at least got the tug I was looking for.

PS why are some fishermen such slobs. I collected line a rubber lure and some lure/line containers all off the bridge. Please take you trash and properly dispose of your discards, tag ends and break offs.
