Hit up one of my honey holes that has been hot lately with Vinny. Got in about 45 minutes. Wind was kicking up most of the time I was there. Nothing on the jig or spinnerbait. Bunch of swipes on the senko, but only hooked up with one Bass that was just over a pound.

I put in some more time at Dudley after work. Weather was stable for the most part, mist and drizzle here and there, slight gusts of wind off and on. I started at Mansion Beach, set my gear down, and get my senko ready. As Im walking up to the shoreline, I see a long, but awkard looking bass about 8-10 feet out just hanging. So pitch over in front of it, the Bass sucks it in, set the hook, and bring it in. I stunned on how underweight this bass was! A 19-1/2in Bass should be somewhere around 4lbs, this one weighed 2lb 1oz. I quickly take a picture, and release it, hoping it goes on a major feeding binge soon! I didnt get anymore action at this spot. Tried a spot around the shoreline to the left with no luck. Moved to a spot I havent tried in 2 years anyways. I got one More 1lb Bass, and a one feisty 8" Bluegill took my senko for a ride, lol

2nd stop tonight. Wind was right in my face at the 1st spot, and chopping up the water pretty good. Move to a better protected spot on the opposite shoreline. Jig, and senko got nothing. But big chunky Bluegills were hammering the topwater popper, kinda fun so I stayed about a half hour at finished up with 4 in the 1/2lb range.

1st of 2 stops tonight after work. Started at Mansion Beach. Looked like alot of action from the bait fish on the surface. Got nothing on the jig, topwater popper, or a jerkbait. Picked up two 1lb Bass when I started throwing a senko. Then wind picked up, the temp dropped, and the bite shut off. on to the next spot...

Got out with Vinny for about 4-1/2 hours on the boat. Tough to see any beds with the overcast, and slight wind. We mostly fished docks, grass flats, and wood. Vinny had a Pickerel, and about 5 Bass with the biggest about 2lbs. I had 1 Pickerel, and 2 Bass with the biggest 1lbs 5oz. The limit we scratched out was about 6-1/2lbs. We know this place has better fish then that, till next time...

I spent about 1-1/2hrs after work bugging some bedding Bass in a couple honey holes. Worked a jig the whole time, but they were being very finicky. Plus the wind wasnt being helpful. Only one I got all night was in front of a small culvret opening, a Largemouth about 1-1/4lbs.

I gave another go at the Watertown ramp tonight, but only got about a half hour in. Threw a jig for 10 minutes, nadda, jerkbait for 10 minutes, zip, finished up with the inline spinner, 5" Sunfish with some nice bright colors, 5" White Perch, 6" Yellow Perch, 1/2lb Smallie.

I fished the "Dirty Water" tonight afterwork for abour 1-1/2 hours. Gusty wind at times, sprinkles of rain here and there, the sun trying to peek out. I tried a jig, nothing. I tried a 2ft to 5 ft shallow crank, too shallow in most of the area I could cast to, need one that dives less than 2ft. I tried a Rat-L-Trap, nothing. I tried an inline spinner, and got a 5" Largemouth, and a 6" White Perch. Finished up the night throwing a small suspending jerkbait, and got a 7" Yellow Perch, and a 11-1/2" 11oz Smallmouth. I missed 2 more hits as well. Looks like the Smallies are just slowly getting active in the river. I look forward to catching more, and bigger.

Wow, what a day. Nice calm start to the day, and then flick the light switch, for a cold, windy, overcast day. Weather definately threw us a wrench on how we were expected to fish. Not to mention, the Pickerel were relateless!!!!!!! I caught 10, and had atleast 6 more come off a the boat, Vinny probably had atleast a 1/2 dozen. But we were able to adjust, adapt, and make something work for us, just couldnt find that kicker. We culled twice for our final limit of 5 Largemouth @ 7lbs 4oz (Vinny Had a 2lb 4oz, 1lb 4oz, 1lb 3oz, I had 1lb 5oz, and 1lb 4oz) That placed us 7th out of 15. Great work everyone, as I think everyone was on the weigh board. Congrats to the Hawghunters on a nice win! Next!

Club tourney today, and expecting the weather to be overcast with some showers, I forgot my sunblock at home, of course the sun was out all day, lol. This was my 1st time fishing this water. Dark tea stained color water, rocks, and everything looks fishable. Well it was a tough day period between the blue bird skies, and the howling wind. Few and far between for bedding fish. So we fished alot of grass beds in 4ft to 6 ft of water with Rat-L-Traps, shallow cranks, senkos, soft jerkbaits and the Pickerel, and Calico Bass were on fire! Dohhh! I unfortunately boat 8 Pickerel, and 2 dinner plate sized Calico Bass. Got a short Largemouth on a Jig. The boater in fish with today finished the day with 2 Largemouth for just over 2-1/2lbs. My only keeper of the day was on a shakeyhead. 1 Largemouth 12-1/2in 1lb 1oz gave me 11th place out of 17 anglers. Lots of laugh, fun day, and no shut out.

I stopped by the Watertown Ramp to see if there were any signs of life yet. I think we are just starting to see some progress here. Water was a little murky, but I seen it worse here. Started with a jerkbait, no takers. Finished up the evening throwing an inline spinner, looking for anything. Ended up with my 1st White Perch of 2011, a Yellow Perch, and my 1st Smallmouth of 2011. Only problem is they were all in the 6" range. Hopefully the big ones will play soon!

1st time to Dudley this year. Started at Mansion Beach area. Some bluegill, and fingerling bass in the shallows. Slow actions, but I did get my jig tagged by a 2lb plus Largemouth that ended up coming off, due to not having my drag set tight enough, doh!. Moved over to the captopper entrance. This part of the pond is always murky on the bottom. Saw a few 1/2lb ot 2lb Bass, but again action was sloooow. Finished up the night throwing a jerkbait, and got one 10" Bass, and a chunky Sunfish

The spot that was hot a couple weeks ago, had gone cold. But I decided to try again anyways after work. Nice evening, not too windy. Water is starting to get a little murky. Started with a jig, nothing...jerkbait, nadda...Tube, got 1 10" Largemouth, there cold. Ended the night throwing a inline spinner to see if ant trout were around, and ended up with 2 more Largemouth(10-1/2", and 14-1/2" 1lb 5oz). Keep that warm weather coming!!!

I was eager to get back to Cochituate tonight. Another pleasant evening. But when I got to the shore spot I wanted, it was occupied with few peeps worm and bobber fishing and not catching much. So reluctantly I moved on and try a different spot. Pitched the jig to a piece of lay down that couldnt have been more than 3 to 4 feet of water, and bump, bump, set the hook and land a beauty of a Largemouth @ 20in 4lbs 5oz(1oz bigger than the one from Tuesday, and New Personal Best from Cochituate) . About 10 minutes later I got my last of the night that was a fine Largemouth as well @ 19-1/2in 4lbs 1oz. Good fight in in both Bass! Cochituate has been on fire early on for sure. Finishing up the evening having 2 Beauties for 8lbs 6oz has a big smile on my face!

Afterwork tonight I got in some fishing time from about 530pm-7pm. Not too windy, and the sun even poked out here and there briefly. About 60 degrees, nice.

Started with a jig, and had a keeper bass follow and swipe at in about 5ft from shore, but caught me off guard, and I missed it. No dice on the jerkbait, or shallow crank. So went back to the jig, and finally felt that BUMP, but missed. Re-tie do to abrasion in the line, and BUMP, and the line takes off, and SNAP...I see a monster swirl in the water, as I stand there stunned knowing I just broke off a horse of a fish. Expletives surely followed! Re-tied on a new jig, and tried to refocus, and catch that fish that has my jig stuck in its lip.with in a couple casts, BUMP, set-the hook, and land a nice 17-1/2in 2-3/4lb Largemouth. Check the line and knot(lesson learned) and recast. BUMP, and again the line takes off, set the hook and land my biggest Bass out of Cochituate @ 20in 4-1/4lbs. Finished up the night with 1 more keeper Bass @ 12-1/2in 3/4lb.

I know the one I broke off was bigger than my best one tonight. But on the other hand, I was happy, I was able learn from a mistake, refocus, and not let it ruin my night. Plus 3 keeper Bass for 7-3/4lbs, Ill take that any night!

Got to my private spot at about 5pm, and surprisingly didnt get kick out for an hour. Windy, but sunny with lots of fish in the shallows soaking up the rays. Totals today were 4 Yellow Perch, and 7 Largemouth(3 keepers). 1 Bass on the jig, and the rest on a jerkbait.

Well it finally happened, I got my 5lber! Mett up with Vinny to fish a spot that we always get kicked out of after 10-15 minutes. Turned out that was all I needed. On the ride over I say "Im gonna pitch a jig into "that tree"and see if anything is hanging around". So first pitch nothing, 2nd pitch I get bumped but no hookup, 3 pitch my jig gets hit by this horse of a fish. Lip it, get the pics, mearsure, weigh and release to hopefully catch again in the future. The stats were 22 inches, 5lbs 9oz with a big ol' belly!

Well its taking longer for the ice to melt off this year, but I wasnt gonna let it stop me. I hit up the boat ramp at Cochituate after work. Cant launch a boat yet, but there is a couple spots to cast to from shore. I threw a jig here and there, a Rooster Tail to see if any Trout were out, but mainly threw a small jerkbait. Saw 2 Bass the whole time I was there(545pm-700pm). The 1st one was about 10" Larry who followed my jerkbait, and briefly put its lips on the lure, and quickly swam off. Dohhh! about 10 mins later I get another follower, and play it sloooow...Bass staring...twitch, twitch of the jerkbait, and it couldnt resist, hook up with my 1st post ice Bass of the year. Measure in at 13-1/2" 1lb 1oz. Its a start, and Im ready for alot more.

Got out with Vinny for about 3 hours this afternoon. No snow on the ice, Woo Hoo! Chilly and Windy, but we've had worse. Very slow on the traps, and lost a few nice nice ones. Only fish on the traps was a 2lb Pickerel by Vinny. Mostly of our action was on the jigging rods. Vinny had 6 to 8 Yellow Perch, I had 6 Yellow Perch with the biggest being about a 1/2lb with a big fat belly, and one 1lb Largemouth. Still looking for that monster...

Got out for the day with Vinny, my girlfriend Melissa, and new friend Mike. Slow day on the the traps, I manage a 1-1/2lb Largemouth. Jigging was on fire though. Vinny, and Mike were nailing Yellow Perch like crazy, and even Melissa was a natural at jigging with a 1/2 a dozen Perch, and a 8" Largemouth.

Got out Vinny for a full day of fishing on this cold Saturday. With still 6 to 8 inched of snow still on the ice, made it a bit tough trudging around. Very slow day overall. A couple other people out there had some small Pickerel, and Bass. I only got 2 Bass all day, but the 1st one was my best Bass in a 1-1/2 years. A nice chunky 3lb 6oz Larry

Got out with Vinny with all weekend on the secret spot. Good times, action wasnt on fire, but steady for the most part. Vinny probably got 10 fish all weekend, 8 bass, and 2 Pickerel I think, with the biggest Bass being 2lb 5oz. I got 8 fish all weekend, 5 Bass (1lb 10oz was my bigest), 3 Pickerel (New personal best 25in 3lb 2oz), 1 Yellow Perch about 1/2lb. We are still looking for that big bite, but it was still a fun ass weekend.

60 Degrees in November is alright with me. I got in about 2-1/2 hours this afternoon(2pm-4:30ish). No bites oin the crankbiat, tube, jig, shakeyhead, dropshot, topwater, or spinnerbait. Small hard jerkbait is the only thing that got them today. Finished up with a Yellow Perch, a Pickerel, and 2 small Bass. Till next time...
