left work early to take care of some things at home. then went out for a couple of hours until dark. dead night again except for this one. nice 3-1/2 lbs bass. biggest one i have caught. 4-inch yum off the shore.

2 trips to this pond, 3 largemouth, all over 2 lbs.

also realized my scale is inaccurate and some of the previous fish probably weigh more than we thought. but this is still our biggest yet.

i drive by here all of the time and always see people fishing. our first time here. rt 27 south toward medfield. just over the bridge is a pull off area on the right. a path leads down to the river next to the bridge.

two hours tonight after work until dark. not much going on. ended the night with one small sunfish on a rapala.

left work early and spent 2 hours on the wall on the north pond. not a single bite. i did lock the keys in the car and the wayland fire dept came down to get the door open. other than that, a rather uneventful evening.

Foundry Pond, Foxboro, MA

perch and pickerel were the special of the day, with some calico bass mixed in.

first time at foundry pond in foxboro (thanks popo) and will not be the last. 10 hours rowing in the canoe, getting sunburn, and pulling fish out of the water left and right. i think 15 mins was the longest we went without a bite. and that was when it died down between 3:00 and 5:00.

when the sun went down we had counted 121 fish. nicholas had 72 to my 49. (i kept emailing myself from the phone throughout the day so we wouldn't lose count)

63 yellow perch (avg 10 inches), 19 calico bass (avg 12-14 inch), 21 pickerel (3 over 20 inches), 15 sunfish, and 3 large mouth bass (smallest of the day at 8 and 10 inches)

mostly rapalas, but switched to a rooster tail and a spoon here and there, but most of the day was rapalas.

a beautiful, out of the way location, tough getting the canoe in and out, but well worth the fun.

i did get a nice size barbed treble hook burried deep in my finger thanks to a stubborn pickerel.

didn't have the needle nose pliers to cut it and actually thought we might have to make a trip to the e.r. rather painful, but did manage to wiggle it out after about a half hour. fortunately, we do carry a small first aid kit. bandaged it up and kept fishing.

10 hours in a canoe is exhausting. but the weather was great and tons of fish. a great day.

first time here. really nice, peaceful, small pond. small parking / canoe launch area on rt-27 (no motors). a ton of weeds for this time of year. makes me wonder what it will be like over the summer.

windy day in the canoe, but not too bad. pretty dead until about 5:00. i ended the day with 2 nice bass and 1 pickerel, nicholas had 1 perch.

another nice warm day to be out. water was pretty rough so we stayed on shore on the north pond. the wind wasn't as bad. probably done with the canoe this year. nicholas got his first trout. 3 hours, 2 nice rainbows. one 16-inch, 1-1/2 lbs, and one 13-inch, 1 lb.

gave up free last minute pats tickets because i had already said we would go fishing; and nicholas chose fishing over the game.

sunny, a bit cooler, but not a bad day. out for about 4 hours. much slower than saturday.

nicholas caught a 12 inch pickerel and i got my biggest pickerel of the year. 20 inches, 2 pounds. hit on a rooster tail and put up a great fight. really wanted it to be a bass, lol, but still a nice fish.

my kid will see a fish jump and want me to move the boat to the spot or cast his line over to it. i always shrug it off and say the fish will be gone by the time you get your line in the water.

well, i happened to see a trout jump not far from the boat, and for some reason, i immediately cast my line to the spot. i was shocked when he actually grabbed it (rooster tail), but he jumped off the hook about half way to the boat.

2nd cast to the same spot. grabs it again and same thing, comes out of the water and spits it out.

3rd cast nothing. 4th cast, i hooked it and got it to the boat. 12 inch rainbow.

only 3 fish for the day, but a pretty good weekend.

never thought we would still be fishing in november, but as luck would have it, the weather has been good on the weekends.

saturday was overcast, 60 degrees. perfect day. spent 4 hours on farm pond. it was a little windy, but we found a sweet spot in the middle and just kept floating over it.

we used crankbaits and rooster tails. between the two of us, we caught 15 pickerel ranging from 8 - 15 inches. for whatever reason, that seems to be all we catch any more (where did the bass go?), but they do put up a good fight and it was a fun, successful day. we did get one 12 inch bass.

not much of a morning person and usually fish afternoon into evening. beautiful day to be out on farm pond today. probably the last good one until spring. on the water till after dark.

slow most of the day. just a few sunfish on a rapala. getting ready to head in for the night around 5:30. literally, as soon as the sun dropped just below the tree line, the pickerel went nuts.

between the two of us we caught 10 pickerel within a half hour. a few 14 and 15 inchers. the rest were smaller. also got a few more perch.

no bass. it's like they have just disappeared....

took the canoe out for a few hours this afternoon. really slow. very windy which made it tough to stay in one spot.

tried soft worms, buzz bait, and rooster tails. i only got an 8-inch bass and an 8-inch yellow perch. both on a 4-inch yum.

nicholas caught a 15-inch chain pickeral, a small perch, and some sunfish. all on a small crankbait. his first fish without a worm and a bobber :)

fished for about an hour and a half tonight off the wall until dark. the pond overall was good all summer, but not much biting this fall.

used a spinner bait for a while. had a bass grab for it just as i was pulling it off the water. didn't hook him. nothing other than that. also tried a worm with no luck.

heard there's a lot of bass in this pond. only shore access is on the north side near the boat launch area. the access road is hard to find if you don't know where it's at.

only trolling motors allowed. took the canoe out. we were the only boat on the water. crystal clear water. entire pond is heavy, thick seaweed about 2 feet below the water top. shorelines are a foot of muck.

not a bad day though. a few bass, a yellow perch, and a pickerel. nicholas also got a bass, yellow perch, and the usual loads of sunfish.

took the canoe out for the afternoon till dark. pretty slow most of the day, but did get a couple of nice bass and one pickerel.

sometimes tough in a canoe with the wake from the bigger boats. hard to stay in one spot, but there are a couple areas where the water stays fairly calm.
