Plymouth Harbor Strike again!
6/22/2013

I was crew in this charter trip. This group was our repeat customers from several years now. Anyway, we went to rips area and noticed several big charters boats was working this area. But couldn't get any hook up or any bites. However, boat's fishfinder was ringed a lot of bluefish and stripers. Then we saw something popped up on surface. It was nice size fin. you know it, *jaws theme*, it was surely great white shark swimming this area. probably between 12-14 footer.

We had to move other spot at rips, it was our best decision. we hooked doubles on two rods at every drift. our customers had their limits in less half of hour. But we continue released them until customers wanted to go sea bass fishing. (Many big charters radioed our boat to ask for tips and we didn't answer any of it. since they didn't get any bite at all)

But oh man, when we get into our sea bass spot, we got hooked up every drop our line into water. they got their own limits. customers was wicked exciting and want to go home already.

so, we did, then my captain and I went back out again. so we can fish to ourselves. We caught over 50 stripers and over 150 sea bass on this trip. But it is not count with customers trip. Image that!!! It was that good fishing!

Bassturds and I went to someplace in search for big bass that we could find at that day. Oh boy, we didn't know what we was asking for!

Before we begin the story, we got huge 10 pounds slider turtle!!!! it was unbelieveable! There was laterally tons of them around! this one was small one but only one turtle that we can catch it! (We released it back after nice picture ops...)

Now, that you have been waiting for!!! The fish story! haha.. Anyway, we fished at 1pm to 9pm. Solid 8 hours of fishing. Not many fish was caught like before. However, all of bass that we hooked was laterally over 2 pounds every time! none of them was under 2! no kidding! But when sunset was starting to get dark, pond was full of frenzy! all kinds of fish are jumping out of water! we could see whole monster fish chased and attacked small baitfish. We quickly thrown spoon/popper and get none! Then we used tube and caught few and lost so many along with several broke lines. They was sliced from bass's mouth. Then we decided to switch jigs from tube and finally got all of bass attacked! almost no losing fish! The result said it all. I don't need to explain any farther than this. Photos will do it.

Most important mention - Bassturds got two personal best on this day! 3.8 then 4.0 on smallmouth! Along with one or two 5 pounds largemouth bass!

Me - I frickin got 5 pound smallmouth!! No kidding!! Along with one or two Largemouth bass! Finally cracked my first 5 pounder smallmouth in Mass!!! Whooo!!!

Plymouth Harbor Strike again!
6/7/2013

Before the story happen, Bassturds was angry about our outing at yesterday. We chatted for awhile. He almost decided to stop fishing with me. Since I outfished him on every trip that I went with him but quality fish and amount of fish caught that still beat him. So, I told him what his problem on fishing and I explained him how I did well on this Hog Factory because I already cracked code on this place. Also, I told him, one thing, Frickin stay with one lure!!! Don't change any lures! Stay with it for allday!!! Then he was complain about how he can't get any bites on it. I explained him about one of my techniques on that specific lure. He decided to give a shot again with me. I told him that I wanted to go out again on next day. He said, OK SURE!!!

Then our story began, We decided to squeeze in before bad storm coming into our area. We went at 9am to 1230pm. We was going at that spot where perch was annihilate at last night. I was quickly connected with nice size largemouth bass. Then bassturds finally got his first smallmouth on lure!!!! Congrats to you, buddy! But it didn't seem important but it was, also, his personal best again!! 2.11 pounds! Previous one was 2.8 that landed him as winner for tourney. Anyway, it didn't end there, we got lot bites. We couldn't get them hooked good enough to keep them on then we got several basses over time. until I cast and got stuck on rock. I turn around to pick paddle and I felt my rod was trying to escape my hand. But lucky, my reaction was quickly than my mind react! I turn around and saw those 4.5-5 pounder smallmouth bass jump out! I was quickly set hook and NOOOO!!!! pulled out!!! It was damn huge. I never seen that smallmouth has that serious girth like that! Then bassturds started on roll and outfished me by one! The result is 6-5.

Like I said, one day, you will outfish me. And surprisingly, it was today!!! I guess my advice to you at last night, worked well! Next time, you better listen to me, buddy!!!

Plymouth Harbor Strike again!
6/6/2013

M&M team was decided to go our hog factory for one big bass. We went to this pond at 5pm to 9pm. We fished several edge point where it is stick out than normal dropoff. we was able to find few of them that still shallow pretty far from shore. Then found those dropoff unlike most dropoff right nearby shore. This is what it was produce well for us. I did pretty well hooked them all without losing any fish. All ranged 2-4 pounds on smallmouth and largemouth bass. Then I caught my biggest smallies of day, 3.2 pounds. that smallies has unbelieveable belly. I just found out that they was starting spawning. since it was fulled of eggs!!! Next couple weeks will be hard fishing!! oh man. Anyway,
I only managed to get 8 bite and landed them all. However, they was very quality fish! Could win tourney with this limit bag. I guessed it was around 14-16 pounds. Meanwhile Bassturds only able to land his only fish for the day: sunfish that attacked his dropshot!!

But on my last catch, 4.2 pounds largemouth bass was nothing more than thrill excitement because we saw three perch exploded surface nearby one of cove. we paddled so hard toward this spot then we saw one of perch group was absolute annihilate! Really huge water splash. I swear it was reaching three feet out of water. I never seen any bass ever did like this. Except saltwater since they are bigger fish to cause that kind of splash when they attacked baitfish. Anyway, I switched to small spoon in my tackle box. Quickly cast to perch. got three before Bassturds was able to do anything. I give him a perch to use as bait. Bassturds was puzzled and look at me said, bass don't eat that big. I just told him, just use it!!!!! then he did listen me and cast it. Not three second later, his line was screaming! Rod is really bend so hard.. I saw this huge bass surfaced before he can able to make huge splash on water. But I wasn't realize that when bass did made splash, bait was pulled out of bass's mouth. Then Bassturds quickly cast again. Boom! same bass smacked his perch! Battle goes again! same result except line broke!! I was hooked up with something big on my line while second battle was going on! But I was able to landed this 4.2 pounds largemouth Bass! It was smacked on small spoon! Lip-hold on it before my spoon pop off from bass's mouth!

I was finally working on Commercial fishing boat. my Captain decided to go cod fishing or bluefish fishing if they was around in Stellwagon. But mostly focus on boat trip of the year to check if everything running smoothly. I was quickly connected with 22 inch cod. But that was first and last one for the all day! 4am to 3am so we drove to race point. Saw school of mackerals, and we decided to jigging for stripers if we cant get some for dinner. So, we did, four drift, four doubles. We was laughing so hard because after first drift, 10 boats come running toward us and start trolling around my boat. we processed our next three drifts with three doubles. Boat was yelling at us to asking us what we was doing. We decided it was time to go home. Only kept two striper per person. four stripers was over 34 inch and 4 stripers was under that size. then we went home without any boat problems. They are cleaned and running perfectly for upcoming tuna and stripers season!

Bassturds and I decided to go same spot where we got several big smallies. We tried to search where big ones staying at so we can come there again when tourney week is starting.

Before to begin the story, it was proven big mistake for us. It was 25 mph winds with blazing hot sunny day! Also, it was white caps waves. I mean laterally, if we put canoe at side of waves, waves will get into canoe. That's how bad it was.

Anyway, we fished from 11 to 5pm. I was only able to get 5 fish meanwhile Bassturds got one. But I got bassturds' tourney winner bass! because it was ringed at 2.8. haha. we thought it was pretty funny if it was actually same bass! Then we decided to go scuba dive to explore what this lake has offer. It was crystal clear water with badly drop off. I mean, it didn't go like 45 degree angle downward. It definitely go 80-85 degree angle down! We saw the huge snapping turtle! It was unbelievable! Then we saw huge school of smallmouth babies! I quickly took underwater shot of them! But that is not all. We still swim another 20 feet away, we are still swimming through the school of smally babies! It was shocking to see that amount of babies without seen any predator or birds that dive bombs at it. Anyway, after that, I was quickly connected to my last smallmouth of the day. I decided to have fool around with my cell-phone. putting more underwater shot for that smallmouth. Proven more awesome shots and impressive how they looks in the water instead out of water. No words can explain this. Picture said it all. The result is bad for us and we got wicked sunburned however, we cannot be more pleased to have this underwater smallmouth pictures. It was very worth our time.

We anchored up on the point. Wind was at our backs.
We were in 4 feet of water. Casting to 30feet.

Deadfishhermen jumped in and fished a tube on the drop off!
I stayed in the canoe tossing a drop shot.

First couple of cast nothing. I figured I was fishing it to fast !

So I took another cast. Let it hit bottom.
Slowly twitched the 4" worm.
Moved the weight a little

I thought I was stuck on bottom.
I realized bottom doesn't peel drag and head shake.
I hollered to mark. He grabbed net.

Snap. Fish Is gone. No other hits for the rest of the day

Bassturds and I went to new spot that we haven't fish before. We was reading from several posts on MAFF that place look so promise for big fish. I mean, smallmouth, not largemouth.
Before I can begin the story,
We was using canoe to fish every inch of this lake. We fished at dropoff, islands, and mostly at 4-8 feet depth.

Anyway, on my first cast, I was able to hooked into 5-6 pounds largemouth bass but hook pulled out when bass jumped out of water. Then, I told Bassturds that I cracked pond's code for the way of fishing style to be used in this lake. He looked at me, said, hell, no way. Then next ten cast, I processed losing several of nice size smallies on same fashion. The big headshakes when they jump out of water. It's game over. Bassturds was angry because he couldn't get any bites when I was consist get 4-5 bites on every cast. He kept changing different lures that his tackle bag has offer. I still using one lure for all day. It has proven hot lure for me. He decided to use same lure as I used but different colors and couldn't buy a bite. He decided to use shiners that we bought in case if we seen some big bass swim in our sight. We want that bragging rights! I was quickly connected my big fish of day. 2.5 pounds smally. Then lost several other bigger smallies than 2.5 pounds. Oh well, that happens. Anyway, we moved across the lake to fish at cove due to winds. On bassturds' first cast with shiner, boom, his personal best smally and tournament winner too! 2.8 pounds smally. After that, he was able to hooked up other two largemouth, sunfish, and yellow perch meanwhile I had 25 basses, 1 pikerel, and 1 white perch. But I had laterally over 300 bites on this day! no kidding at all. Just couldn't capitalize it all.

Bassturds and I went to his favorite hole. It was laterally has look for monster largemouth that waiting to be pulled out. But we didn't get any bass over 2 pounds since we was playing for Jwall's Arrongance tourney. We are looking for one big fish to win it. But we failed to do so. However, it didn't destroyed our day of fishing because we caught over 60+ bass. It was fun action but just couldn't find the big ones. Look forward to come over this spot again when I can.

Totally embarrassment to admit that this striper was smallest one I ever caught in whole life! it was 22 inch long! Previous record was 25 inch long. Anyway, We was consist losing the hookset! They are biting but just couldn't capitalize it... Bassturds beat me by 5-3. Next time, we wont make any mistakes!

Guess what I caught? That is what I expected! SHAD!!! I was totally crushed them! Fished at connecticut river on saturday midnight to 6am before I went to work. Caught over 100 shads. They was laterally competition on who get lure first! Every cast was hooked up. Even if I got unhooked, I'll get another hooked up in few second later! I lost all 12 shad jigs and I decided to give up to go home. It is no word that can explain this. Wish this spot was closer to my hometown then I'll go there again! No photos due to darkness!

Why did you think it is smallmouth is actually smoking! haha I was only meant, smallmouth is smoking our lures!

But before begin the story, I was one who decided to stay chu for another hour so it can give more time for Bassards to catch his first smallmouth bass in Mass or catch laker/salmon. So, after half hour later, He bagged 4.13 pounds largemouth bass! It was nice! Then I told him that I felt bad that he didnt get any of them that he wanted. So, I'll take him to my smallmouth Heaven spot. He accepted it without hesitation. We went there and I told him that we need to fish at west side. He wanted to fish at east side. I told him, DO YOU TRUST ME ORWISE YOU WONT GET THAT 4.13LBS BASS! He decided to follow my command! we paddled over the point then fish hard way to north end. IT was totally hell to keep canoe stay into our position! We was trolling the shiners behind canoe because canoe was drifting too fast. meanwhile casting lures.

It was exactly boom! boom! boom! boom! boom! Same result, 1 out of 3/4 hits is actually finally hooked and landed it! We was arrived north end in two hours! with over 15 smallmouths. Along with bonus several nice size perch.

Then we moved to one small cove that is my second favorite spot on east side. Hell break loose! so many smallmouth! I got huge bonus catch! 4.8-5lbs pikerel!! it was 28 inch long! It was awesome! Then we pound it so hard that there is other two boaters come into our spot and fish like 20 yards away. we wasn't that happy because we are in canoe meanwhile they got bass boats! Anyway, we was smiling hard because we got consist smoking by smallies! while other two boat didn't even got any fish except one perch that little kid got!

In the end, Bassturds got little taste of my daily dose of allright fishing day! He certainly got his best day on this day. He finally got his first smallmouth bass in Mass and many of them! I told him that just wait next two week, he will have another best day of smallmouth fishing. He was like wow, seriously!? haha Yep, you will get it with huge bag limit, buddy!

Result:
50+ Smallmouth bass (1.9 is big fish of day)
3 - Largemouth bass (???unknown???)
4 - Yellow perch (.13oz is big fish of day)
1 - Pikerel (4.8-5lbs is big fish of day)

Bassturds will post pictures when he can.

Epic fishing on my birthday!!!

It seem like my fish god answered my prayer!!!

Caught over 150 fish! All of them on drop shot with 2 inch grub. Two hooks. Caught almost whole species in the lake! Sunfish, crappie, white perch, yellow perch, bullhead catfish, eel, pikerel, and largemouth bass!

Before I can begin my story! Remember, I loved to use my trout set up that has 4 pound line. That is what I am using. I was originally fish for yellow perch. Anyway, I had double fish on almost every drift! but tend to losing them on nearby canoe when I'm trying to pull them out of water. Most common fish that I tend to catch is bass/perch. Rest of them is small number but still large number for most fisherman tend to catch them. Lost count for bass and perch. But Kept score for 11 bullhead catfish, 16 white perch, 33 sunfish, 8 crappies, and 3 pikerels, 1 giant eel!

Most surprising catch was bullhead catfish! I had two monster bullhead catfish on both hook! I grabbed first one on top of line. Last catfish broke the line and swam free! That catfish was 1 1/2 size bigger than that one I grabbed! However, that catfish weight exactly 2 pounds! Pinfish size! It is 15 1/2 inch long! wondering what that bigger catfish weight... oh well...

Now for most shocking part, I caught 1.15 pound yellow perch! 14 1/2 inch long! But that wasn't big headline! That fish was on my top hook. Guess what it is on my bottom hook??!!!! Bingo! Giant EEL! I'm wish I was kidding! I grabbed yellow perch! Huge mistake! Line snapped instantly when I grabbed yellow perch! that damn eel swim like snake back into bottom! It was around 7-8 feet long! 6-8 inch girth! But I wish I had net on my canoe! I'll definitely landed it for sure!! I cannot really complain because I had 4 pound line. I was asking for that much to break line. I was shocked for several minutes to get my mind kicked in that I was losing giant eel! (that is probably same eel that I caught 8-10 years ago. It was 6 feet long! but who knows) However, now, I have two pinfish!! whooo!!!

Less important that need to mention on here, I caught 12 ounces sunfish! on my last drift! 10 inch long with 9 1/2 girth! Wicked fat fish for this size! Whoo!! Three pinfish in less three hours! But that wasn't story! I fished in down pour rain! That's make my story better!!! I had to stop fishing because there was lighting around. I'll definitely go back there again sometimes soon!! Glad that I found this spot!

Top of all, it is on my birthday! Fish God certainly did give his presents for me today! Bunch thanks for that!

I was invited by muskiebigfish's group that going to chu. I met Aem and badlarry at park lot. (I found out that muskiebigfish has other plan to go Quabbin instead come over here.) Anyway, we walked down at our spot. we was getting ready to set up our things. probably 15 minutes later, I got first hit and lost it! hook was pulled out. Cast next one, boom! got one! I was wicked exciting and hoping it was Laker. Fish come closer at every cranking that I reeled it. Soon enough, I recognized fish's skin color. It was definitely Laker! My first time to attempt to catch this fish. It was at 6am. After that, I knew we are off good start. Aem and I got several bites but lost them all. badlarry has one or two bites too. Wicked lot of adrenaline pumped into our vein when see rod twitching around!
At 7am, Bassinbroosky showed up, and we moved to other location due to stopped bites. Soon enough, we knew it was not good day! even though it was absolute nice day to be out there.
At 1030am, Aem and badlarry stopped fishing and left.
At 11am, Bassinbroosky and I walked/keep fishing toward back to our car. Has one or two bites but not strong enough to stay hooked. Then we drove to old church area to attempt to get anything that bites. We fished until 1245pm. I had to give up and go home due to errands. Anyway, it was nice to meet you guys! hopefully, we will do this again. I surely hope that I don't have to schooled you guys! haha

My rod was ten feet long with only 4 pound line. Surprised me big time that my line can manage to hold on 1 ounce sinker without breaking off. During battle, every cast, every time it gotten stuck in weeds. But I totally loved this set up!

p.s. both lakers that I did bring home, both lakers was male. No eggs inside of them.

Caught three pin-fish! Crappie, white perch, and sunfish! in span for two weeks.

Totally caught me off guard! I was boring and fishing for bass until I found sunfish was making their own nesting. I was surprised that they do this at early of season. I usually seen them do that at early June. But next day, I brought worms and went after them on my trout set up. banged them hard, then white perch showed up! Caught 1.10 pound white perch! I never seen that big before. It was impressive. Next cast, 1.8 pounds crappie! If I had to write a book about nice ending, this is one hell of story!

Caught over 300 sunfishes that range 8-10 inch long with almost 12 ounces on every fish. Plus, several on 12-14 ounces for pinfish size.

White perch caught probably around 20 of them. but they was mostly male. got whole white stuff allover me when hold on their belly to unhook it. haha

Crappies was caught 11 times. all of them was baby size until that monster hit.

I gotta admit it was very blast time! Caught total 68 trouts in less four hours! I never knew they was in that honey hole! I fished there after noticed around 50 people fished there at yesterday. So, I decided to fish there at today.

Oh man. It was totally fun and laughing at several fisherman that cannot get single hook up. I managed to get 8 Rainbows, 11 Brookies, and 19 Browns. At around 5pm, all big bites was shut off. Then I had all babies bites! Rest of 30 brookies was between 5-8 inch long. There was more than 10 fisherman who fly-fishing around me. But this one father with younger kid kept coming closer to me to trying catch some fish.

I noticed that father was tried so hard to catch some fish, I lend him one of my flies. Also, I let that kid to reeled several of my trouts that I managed to hooked up. That kid must be wicked on adrenaline rush because he was all hopping around and screaming at his dad about the his hooked fish that was jumping around. Meanwhile his father was all elastic to get a hook up at same time with his own son. It was pleasure to see this kid to have fun as his father too. (I don't know if this guy is on MAFF, so, I am that guy who use blue jacket with orange hat if you forget my name that I did introduced myself to you.)

But in the end, it was totally blast time for me to find this honey hole. It was totally crazy!

I went to four different holes in south shore. Only one pond was proven hot fishing for me. I want to remain no name for those four ponds. for good reasons. I'm sure you'all will understand it. Anyway, it is certainly gave me lot of action as exactly I wanted.

Monday - Caught 21 trouts out of 56 hits. All rainbows. most of them was around 12-14 inch long. with two trout that reach 16 inch long. only fish for an hour.

Tuesday - Caught 7 trouts out of 19 bites. All rainbows. usual 12-14 inch long. it was hard due to snowing and cold temperature. only fish for an hour.

Wednesday - Caught 13 trouts out of 33 bites. Still all rainbows. same size as usual. nothing excitement at this day. fished for two hours.

Thursday - I give up and switch my method to catch bigger trout. fished for two hours. got only two bites. But one of them was beautiful big salmon that I lost when i was wader in the water. (bad handling and hook come out!) God Dam*! This is my first time to hook up one salmon in Mass! End up, I lost it! unbelieveable! It is surely 10+ pounder fish because it was around 28-33 inch long from my estimate! It's definitely fuel my desire to catch one badly!

Friday - fished same spot where I lost the big salmon, its proved no fish for me. no bites at all. fished for an hour. But good note, I finally got new phone that I broke from last month! Now, I can begin taking fish photos!

I went into canoe and tried to fish every inch of this pond. Fished for five hours and got nothing at all. Until wind blew me off edge of lake to middle of lake. I decided to switch jig and start working. Somehow, my line was mess up from spinner. I got it fixed and my line was tugged on weedline. I paddled to it and try to break it free. But it didn't. So, I kept reeled it back to me. I was reward with pile of weeds covered with 1-2 pound bass! Frickin A! My first bass caught in 15 feet deep! I never caught bass over 8 feet deep. I was thrilled about it.

I went there and attempt to catch my first Carp in Mass. It was still too early to go after for them.

I fished 930am to 1pm. no nibbles. haven't seen any carp. There was several bow hunters who keep shooting into water but pulled nothing at all. This is my first time that I ever skunked during carp fishing outings. Well, I cannot get them all! haha

I guess I'll wait another week or two before coming back to this river again.

Ice is so strange in that pond! West and south side has 4-7 inch of ice. Meanwhile middle of pond is consist 7 inch of ice. East side has 3-4 feet of ice! (I didnt going to north end due to open water and I was walking at 2 inch of ice then I realized that I need to walk back out.)

Anyway, here is my story,

when I arrived that pond at 630am, first thing, I fell down and hit my right hip. I felt something odd about that. I realized that is where I put my phone.. Oops. I checked my phone. It is definitely gone! the glass screen is cracked and ink is spoiled. oh well. I kept walking 100 yard north from south end. Bam. lot of perch being caught and most of them was dink size. 3-7 inches. Also, several perch range 10-13 inches too. I decided to move to deep area that has 13 feet deep. It was nice decision. I was reward with 3 perch over one pound and couple of perch that are 12-13 inch range. definitely between 3/4 - less 15 oz. (this was at nearby east side) then I moved to middle and west side. no big perch at all. only bunch of dinks. I give up at 5pm. The best of 10 perch total weight was 7.78 lbs.

Next day, went up that lake again, at 7am. I went straight to that 13 feet spot. Caught bunch of dinks! no big perch at all. I walked to back to south end that where small creek that lead to another pond. Fished there, finally found couple perch that was 10-11 inch then rest of them was less 7 inches. I wasn't happy with the perch size. so I walked to middle of lake and caught nothing except 12 inch walleye - relased back. I give up and decided to go east side in search for big perch. that is how i found out that ice is 3-4 feet! I was using regular auger! not gas or electric auger. Image that! it took me probably 5 minutes to finally break through the ice. But it is definitly worth it! since I was reward with couple of 3/4 to 14oz of perch. Then bite started to shut off. I got one small perch that was 4 inch long. I reeled it to unhook perch but 34 inch northern pike smacked it! I fought with it for 15-20 minutes before landed it and released back. I decided to move other area due to pikes. Big perch was definitely gone. Since rest of day with dinks range 3-9 inches. Give up at 3pm. The best of 10 perch total weight was 4.81 lbs.

The only method that I did use was 2 pound line with 10-15 pound strength rod/reel. Caty lure with spikes on it. Also, has the sensitive bite tip on my rod to easily notice the lighest bite. I definitely need to buy sensitive rod for perch. I'll do that at next year when ice comes up again. anyway, that is just only one rod I have been consist caught perch. (walleye/pike was hit on jigging rapala on other rod that has 4 pound line)

I probably underestimate the number for myself. But I caught over 500 perch along with one walleye/pike. It was great two days for me and my friend. I tried eat the yellow perch. It was good. Not the best. but it is definitely good taste fish. I was happy with the result for fishing at that lake. Definitey will visit that lake again for sure.
