Gallows Pond, Plymouth MA & Jacobs Pond, Norwell MA
8/14/2012

Headed out to Gallows Pond in Plymouth today with Regan91 to our secret spot, nothing special lure wise. Just fishing with Shiners, hooked into A LOT of big fish. My first cast I was into a big largemouth and it spit my hook on a jump and my hook/bobber came flying back at me. I threw on another shiner, my 2nd cast. I got slammed by a legit 5 pound Smallmouth, I reeled him into me in the water, because we we're wading out waist deep with our bathing suits. I got him right to my legs, and as I grabbed him he made one last thrash, snapped my line and swam off with my hook in the corner of his mouth. I couldn't even believe I lost a Smallie THAT big. I was in a cold sweat I was so mad haha. Luckily my next couple of casts I hooked into 3 nice 2-3 pound Smallies. My friend Gage caught himself a nice Smallie as well. He lost 2 fish as well, there was a another guy wading out next to us, and he showed us a picture of a 6 pound Larry he caught like 30 minutes before we showed up. The fish in Gallows are insanely strong. Big fish with lots of strength. We left Gallows around 4-430 and picked up our friend Jess, we headed out to Jacobs to use up some Nightcrawlers the guy at Gallows gave us, and the rest of our shiners. We hooked into some nice Crappie and a couple of smaller Larry's. This was the 3rd time our friend Jess had ever been fishing in her life haha, we took her for her first 2 and this trip as well. She caught her very first Largemouth, a good size too, around 2 lbs and a nice Crappie. She was psyched. All in all a GREAT Saturday.

Jacobs Pond, Norwell MA & Oldham Pond, Pembroke MA
7/12/2012

Decided to hit up our usual spot of Jacobs Pond in Norwell this afternoon around 5:30pm. The water was alive with dragonflies mating on the surface, pretty cool sight. Some of them were absolutely huge. We we're fishing with ZOOM Senkos. Watermelon color, Blue Raspberry Flake, and White. As well as a few left over live shiners from an earlier outing. It turned out to be a slow afternoon, although the weather was gorgeous so we didn't care. Only caught one 2lb bass, and Regan91 hooked up on a small Crappie. Got a couple of bites, but either missed the hookset or the fish barely had the lure in their mouths. We headed to Oldham in Pembroke at around 8pm. The water was alive per usual at that time. But sadly only caught two white Perch. Decent size ones though. I caught mine surprisingly on a top water popper, and dapar321 caught his on a Licorice Purple Missle worm.

7/7/2012

It was raining/drizzling all morning here in Hanover, so when the rain finally let up for a few hours, I headed to Jacobs to see what the rain stirred up. I wanted to go to Oldham or Halfway, but with the weather being iffy I wanted to stay really close to my house ( I live 3 minutes from Jacobs ) I decided to fish a Blue Raspberry Senko, with turquoise flake. I was fishing from rt. 123 roadside with two of my friends, and on my first cast I pulled in a nice 2.5 lb'er. My friend was fishing with a 5/16 spinnerbait with a gold Indiana Blade and a red bucktail. He caught a nice 1.5lber about 30 minutes into our outing. Sadly those were the only 2 fish of the day, but not bad for a short outing right in between rain spurts lol!

Awful trip name I know, haha. Just had to make something lame with all J's. Lol. So we decided to head to Jacobs Pond at around 630 before heading out to see some fireworks at Oldham Pond. I was fishing with my trusty Gary Yamamoto Senko's, hyper white; rigged wacky style. Dave was fishing with Purple/Brown Missle D-Bomb soft plastics; licorice scent. Gage was fishing a trusty white ZOOM 6 inch jig worm. We fished our usual spot, on rt. 123 right off the road. On my second cast I landed a 2+ lb'er that INHALED my senko. What a fight he put up too, 2-3 good jumps clear out of the water. Dave hooked up about 15 minutes in, on a nice 3lber (I forgot my digital scale so I am guessing based on their size) after about another 15 minutes of no action, i decided to move down the road to another opening and cast adjacent to the shore near the drainage block. On my 3rd cast I got hit, but didn't get the hook set; I immediately cast back out to the location of the hit, a couple of quick pops and BOOM. Landed him, another good 2-2.5 lb'er. We called it quits around 8pm and headed to Oldham for some fireworks. All in all a pretty solid hour and a half outing for kicks and giggles before fireworks I'd say!

6/30/2012

Decided to head to Oldham Pond at around 730pm with dapar321, regan91, and morning_rise last night. We were fishing with Live Shiners, White ZOOM worms, and White Zoom Senkos. The water virtually came alive, legitimately. There was swirls, ripples, jumps, and splashes everywhere. We started throwing shiners out about 15 yards and immediately hooked into a couple of 2-3 pound Larry's and some pretty damn good sized Crappie's. We surprisingly didn't have much luck with the Senko's or Worms even using a hyper white color. The bugs were insane though, even using OFF with deet, we we're getting eaten alive. We decided to call it quits at around 10pm. All in all we caught roughly 10 fish in that 2 and a half hour period.

Halfway Pond, Plymouth MA
6/28/2012

Started the day today at Halfway Pond in Plymouth, fishing soft plastics and live shiners. Hooked up on a few Pickerel, and managed to haul in a small Snapping Turtle, which is surprising considering how crystal clean Halfway is. I always thought Snappers preferred murkier/muddier water with more vegetation. Oh well haha! Sadly we didn't hook up on any of those famous Halfway Larry's or Sally's. Always next time though! We did manage to hit up Jacobs Pond in Norwell, MA on our way home though, hooked up on a couple good Larry's and Pickerel. My friend Dave (dapar321 on MAfishfinder) caught his first 3lb+ Largemouth ever, he was pretty proud haha! Pics on my profile and his as well if you're interested. All in all not a bad day, could've been better; but also worse. I am happy!

Manchester Pond Resevoir
6/24/2012

Slow morning, starting around 10:30am fishing live shiners. Starting slamming Smallmouth and Largemouth at around 12:15pm, 9 fish total between 4 people. Fished until around 1:45pm. Fished in between the left Southwest Side on the Dam, next to the treeline and the cement Drainage block with the pipe/fence on it. Roughly a 70 yard distance up and down the shore line casting to different rock formations on the bottom, and the overhanging trees to the left.

I've added this spot to MAfishfinder, as it was not on the site surprisingly. Feel free to check it out, and take a look at the pictures from this trip up there.
