Did some Ice fishing in Hanson today with Dave, ice was around 6 inches thick. Drilled a few holes, put a tip up down, and did some jigging. Caught one Fish, a yellow Perch about 12-13 inches, maybe a half a pound. Fished from around 12:30 until around 3pm when it started to snow. At least we didn't skunk so we're happy.

7/16/2014 - 7/21/2014

The past week I've been fishing with this new swimbait that my next door neighbor Larry made me custom in his shop. He owns BigFish Bait Company, some of you may of heard of him - Big Fish Larry Wentworth. He made me an 8 inch jointed swimbait, in a rainbow trout pattern. All hand carved, hand painted, the works. It works amazing. Every day I've thrown it, I've caught at least 2 fish on it. The first good one was a 5 pound monster that was 23 inches long, the other good one was a 4 pound 7 ounce chunker, and the 3rd one that was decent was a 2 and a half pounder. If you guys ever want a hand crafted wooden swimbait of any type, just find him online, look for BigFish Bait Co. on Facebook. Excellent craftsmanship, and great prices. Saltwater and Freshwater baits. I have a GoPro video of the 2 fish from today as well, that I'll be uploading on Youtube later on. Search for HooliganLuke, I should have it up by the end of the week.

Went out this past Thursday, trying out some new soft plastics I got. The Missle D-Bomb, and some new colors of Damiki Hydras and RI's Sweet Beavers. Caught a few nice fish, all in the 1 n'a half to 3 range. I actually caught my first fish on a Spinnerbait too, my 20+ years of fishing and I've never caught anything on a Spinnerbait, not even a Pickerel. I always heard how they were "cheater" baits like Senkos because theyre apparently so good in Stained-Muddy water and Windy situations, yet I've never even got so much as a nibble with a Spinnerbait until Thursday. I was actually not even really fishing it, I was slowly moving over to the next location I wanted to fish under Trolling power and left it in the water about a foot and a half down, and a nice sized fish hit it while it was trolling. I didn't even have my GoPro rolling, I had to immediately turn it out like halfway through reeling it in lol. I got it though. Here's the link to the video, check it out if you'd like.

Oldham Pond, Pembroke MA - Ayers Lake, Barrington NH
6/25/2014 - 6/30/2014

Gone out quite a bit the past 2 weeks, haven't really been updating as much as I would like. But, regardless I am giving you guys the 411 on me lately (because I know you all care so much) ;) hahaha. Last week I hit up Oldham with my buddy Sam, caught quite a few fish in the late afternoon. Around 530ish-930ish pm. Sam lost a really nice fish as well, I am guessing around 5+ I felt so bad for him haha, the look on his face was priceless though. Then this weekend, I traveled up to NH with a bunch of friends to Ayers Lake Campground, and fished Ayers Lake. It was a ton of fun, and I caught quite a few decent fish. The biggest was 3 pounds 7 ounces. All in all a pretty good recent week of fishing, haven't been skunked in a while. I recorded some good footage as well, got a new video up, check it out!

I went to Lake Okeechobee last week with Jess, on a beautiful Tuesday morning. We went with a guide from Roland Martin's Marina named Mike Balon. He was a great guide, and very knowledgeable, learned quite a bit from him especially regarding summer time bass habits/techniques. We started fishing at around 6 am, and by 10 am we had caught a little over 20 fish between the 3 of us (which he mentioned was a slow day) - can only imagine what a good day looks like on the Big O' . We didn't catch any famous South FL 8-10 pounders, but I didn't care in the least, it was a ton of fun hooking up every 5-10 minutes. Biggest fish we caught, I'd have to guestimate to around 3 pounds. Was still a great experience, and I'd definitely do it again. Here's a video link to some of the Go Pro footage I managed to record.

Bit of a late update, but I hit up Oldham last Monday with a buddy of mine. Fished for about 4 hours. Caught a few decent fish all within the 1lb to 2lb range. Using Reaction Innovations Sweet Beavers, and Culprit 10 inch worms. Went to another one of my honey holes later that day, and caught a nice 3.1 on a Sweet Beaver, not bad for only fishing for about 25 minutes, just for s***s and giggles. All in all it was a great day. I am currently down in FL right now with my gf on Vacation (I know again) - and I am fishing Okeechobee tomorrow morning (Tuesday 6/16) starting at 6am. Hopefully you guys will see me post some legendary Big O' - monsters. Bringing my Go Pro as well. So I am hoping to have some great footage to upload for you guys.

Man I am so clever 8-) Look at that title ^ - So this past weekend I went to Oldham by myself and had a really great day. I was fishing Creature style baits, texas rigged. I caught about 9 fish in a 4 hour span of just putting around the lake, or letting the wind drift me around. Biggest was around 2.5? I'd say, give or take, didn't really bother weighing. Was just fun catchin' - I recorded a bunch of GoPro footage too, but sadly my GoPro died after about 2 and a half hours, but I still managed to get some cool footage. I posted it up on YouTube, the video is here (in case it doesnt show up in the "trip video" section, per usual) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joADPNfKvNs&feature=youtu.be

Clear Lake, CA - Plymouth
5/21/2014 - 5/30/2014

Last week I went on vacation with my gf Jess, and Dave. We went to Clear Lake in Northern Cali, it was absolutely gorgeous; we caught some decent fish, but those elusive California double digit fish eluded us. The water quality was poor at Clear Lake due to excessive algae bloom and high winds. We still managed to catch a few bass, one around 5 pounds. We got 2 over 8 pound Catfish as well. We also visited Lake Sonoma, but skunked, the scenery was worth it though. Absolutely stunning landscape out there. Since coming back I've hit up a few places in Plymouth, and hooked into some nice fish.

Went to Plymouth today, to a place with water, trees, and fish to boot! Was actually a pretty crappy day weather wise. Dave and I decided to stick it out and fished for quite some time, from about 1230 until 530. Just as luck would have it while we were on the far end of where we were fishing my trolling motor died.... so we had to row a good mile and a half back to the launch. On our way back we stopped at a few promising looking areas and starting pitching chatterbaits and swim jigs. I hooked up on two nice fish. A decent 3.8lber and my personal best a fat egger. She weighed in at 3.23kg on my scale which is about 7.1lbs. As you can tell from the photos she looks like she ate a few softballs lol. Great end to a crappy day overall. Sadly I only have photos, as my GoPro died about halfway through the day. I wish I got this fish on video, but oh well.. hopefully I can track her down and catch her again one day.

Dave and I went to Billington today for about 2 hours or so, just cruising around throwing jigs, chatterbaits, and my new 5 inch Huddlestons. Hooked up with a pretty decent fish on the Southeast side of the big island, in about 10 feet of water on a Z-man Chatterbait, I'd say he was around 3 pound? Maybe 3.5, it was a fat fish. Fished from around 1:30pm till around 330-4ish. Caught a decent sized Perch as well, and saw a huge dead sucker fish floating in the water, which I didn't even know were native to Billington. Was finally able to get a good GoPro clip too, after finally getting one this season. Video is below, check it out.

Only my 3rd time out this year, decided to throw a Chatterbait after reading some recent posts here by Stratos etc. Was throwing a 3/8 Black&Blue Z-Man. Caught 4 fish total today, but only one was really picture worthy, rest were dinks between 8-10 inches and 1lb or under. The biggest one, pictured; was about 14 inches and 1 & 3/4 lbs. Not a lunker, but I am happy.

8/9/2013 - 8/12/2013

Spent the past couple of days fishing a few different ponds, using everyone's favorite go-to lure, the Gary Yamatoaster special - a SENKO!.= The skill cap on this lure is insanely high. I was fishing with a red/purple w/purple flake senko texas rigged, as well as a Pumpkin w/green flake too. Now before everyone commends and applauds me for using senkos, I must say; it's the only thing I've been able to get fish with the past couple of days with the weird weather and how weird the Bass have been behaving lately.

8/5/2013 - 8/7/2013

Went to some of my honey hole spots the past few days and started fishing primarily with no-name brand plastic worms that a guy I know in Hanover makes. They were 7-10 inch curl tailed, and twist tailed (ribbon tailed) worms. I was fishing all sorts of colors; but Black, Root Beer brown, Pumpkin, and Green w/flake seemed to be doing the trick. I had them all rigged Texas Style with my 'fancy' new tungsten weights. I fished primarily deep water (by deep I mean greater than 10 feet) as where that seems to be where most of the fish are these days (to me anyway) - over the past 3-4 days I've caught plenty of dinks, but one or two nice 2-3+ lb'ers. Also went to Jacobs Pond last night around 7pm and caught a dink about 2 feet from shore, and landed one on one of my new KVD frogs, but he broke off before I could lip him to get a pic. ;/ such is life haha.

7/30/2013

Yesterday July 30th, I decided to take my cartopper in the late afternoon to 'Unknown location' in Plymouth with the gf. Turned out to be a great day, with 10 (7 larrys 3 sallies) bass, 1 pickerel, 3 Bluegills, a Perch and even a hand caught Painted Turtle :P - I even caught myself a chunky (I am guessing around) 4.5 lb'er. (My scale said 5lbs 5 ounces) - but I think my digital scale is a tad bit off, who knows though right? Gotta calibrate it correctly soon. Caught myself another nice 3lb 14 ounce Larry and a 2lb smallie as well. Gf caught quite a few half pounders-1lb'ers herself. Fun way to kill an afternoon.

Decided to take my new car topper to Oldham today in the afternoon with the gf, what a great day it turned out to be. We dropped in the water and rowed across the lake over to two big islands, starting throwing crankbaits, no to avail. We moved over to the various weed beds and lily pad stretches on the western shore; where we switched over to top water. I put on a 4 inch Perch pattern surface popper and my gf put on a 3 inch Silver/Blue popper, it took a bit of time but we eventually got into some fish. A couple of dinks not worth writing home about, and then we started getting into some bigger fish closer to the pads in one the northwest coves. I hooked up on small half pounder, and a nice 2 pounder, she caught another dink, and sadly lost 2 nice Bass, but made up for it with the 3 pounder she landed about 20 minutes later. We switched from Topwater to small Crappie crank baits to see if we could get some slab action, but caught nothing but Perch on them lol. All in all it was a nice little 5 hour outing. We got out just in time, as we were informed by locals that the pond is closing tomorrow for a while for weed treatment by the town. Good day!

4th Cliff, Humarock MA - Gallows Pond, Plymouth MA
8/26/2012 - 8/27/2012

Had a 3 day weekend this weekend. Decided to fish all weekend! Went to 4th Cliff in Marshfield yesterday afternoon to fish the 730pm high tide, fished from around 5pm-830pm, didn't hook up on anything. Been everywhere this season and haven't caught a single Striper yet. Today I decided to head back down to Gallows Pond with another friend of mine started throwing random things in my tackle box for the hell of it. My friend hooked up on 4 Smallies, within the 2-2.5lb range. Only got pics of two of em' though. I decided to throw the last couple of shiners we had left over from a previous outing 3 days ago out there. Caught a nice 3lb 2oz Larry. Let him go, put on another shiner, cast out again. Bobber immediately goes under, I set the hook, reel him in. SAME FISH. Legit. The same fish I had just released 1 minute earlier had swam out and taken my other shiner AGAIN. I even saw where I took the hook out of the corner of his mouth. It was hilarious, what are the chances? Lol. I felt bad and put my dead shiner in his mouth, pushed it down a bit and he actually opened his throat and swallowed the shiner while I had him lipped. It was pretty damn cool. All in all a great 3 day weekend.

Headed to Gallows today with dapar321, & morning rise, among other friends. Fishing with live shiners because we had friends with us whom it was there first time fishing ever. So we decided on some lazy fun fishing. Hooked into 7 fish of really nice size, Larrys and Sallys. All within the 2-5lb range. Fished from around 9am-330pm. Slow start to the morning but it picked up (strangely) around mid afternoon when the sun was the highest.

Manchester Pond Reservoir, Attleboro MA - Maquan Pond, Hanson MA
8/19/2012

Haha play on words. Went to Manchester Pond Reservoir in Attleboro on Sunday around 12pm. Hooked up on 2-3 Smallies in the 1.5-3lb range and 3 Larrys (similar sizes) on the dam, walked a good distance around the lake trying different fishing holes but didnt hook up on any of them. Only hooked up at the dam in one 15 yard spot, theres a rocky drop off about 25 feet off shore in that area so that would explain it! haha. After that we headed home back to the south shore and went to Maquan Pond in Hanson, caught 3 Largemouth and 1 pickerel in about 2 hours time. Overall pretty decent day.

Just took an hour and a half outta my day and headed to Hanson, to fish Maquan Pond in Hanson. Started throwing my dark blue with blue metal flake jig-n-pig combo, with a ZOOM frog style trailer. First cast I landed a fish, second cast I landed a fish, and my 3rd cast for the hat trick I landed another fish. All within the 1.5-2.5 range. Casted a few more times slowly walking down the shore line, fan casting the are a basically. On my 10th cast I hooked up again, but I saw the fish grab it this time. What a sight, seeing that mouth open wide and those white gill plates and then my jig disappearing. Setting the hook, and watching the fish thrash about underwater. It was great. I reeled that one in and it was the biggest I caught today, 2 pounds 12 ounces. Caught 2 more smaller ones after that fish, around the 1.5-2lb range. All of this in roughly a 45-50 minute span of afternoon fishing haha. It was awesome.

7/19/2012 - 8/6/2012

For the past 3-4 weeks I've had quite the dry spell with fish lately, not just Largemouth. No Crappie, Perch, Pickerel, Stripers, Cod; anything. My girlfriend and I went fishing about 2 weeks ago at Jacobs and she caught her first Largemouth Bass ever, it was quite an accomplishment! I on the other hand didn't catch a thing haha. We hit up Gallows the next day and I managed to catch a nice Largemouth, that was roughly 3 pounds, but right when I went to lip him he shook once more and my hook popped out like nothing. Pretty saddening. We went to Pawtuckaway State Park in NH, for a short 4 day vaca; tent camping. It was really nice up there, I managed to snag two Largemouth on a Crawfish crankbait, but they were literally the size of my hand. Pretty tiny haha. My gf caught herself some rather large Pumpkinseeds and Bluegills, some of the biggest sunfish I'd ever seen. Then we went about a full week and a half with no fish at all. We went out quite often too. I finally managed to hook into 4 nice 1-2 bass today at my secret spot in Hanson, MA. After about 2 weeks completely fishless. Anyone else been really slow the past month or so? Or is it just me haha.

7/15/2012

Decided to take another trip down to Gallows Pond on Sunday after a Bass Pro trip, since our Saturday trip went quite well. We headed down to our honey spot and started fishing. My first cast, I pulled in a nice 2lb Smallie. My 4th cast I pulled in another Smallie, probably around a pound and a half, MAYBE 2lbs. But I doubt it, still a good fish none the less. My 5th cast, lol... oh man. My line got slammed, my rod almost got pulled out of my hands because I wasn't 100% paying attention, I was talking to a buddy of mine. I managed to land a 5 lb 7 ounce Largemouth; mid-water. I was wading about waist deep into the water. What a fighter, I thought I was going to lose him a couple of times. Took a good minute to bring him in. After that brought in 2 other 2-3 lb'ers, Dave caught a nice 2.5 pound Smallie himself. All in all a great day. Did some snorkeling at Gallows as well, got some great video footage of schooling Largemouth and Sunfish around underwater structure, the water there is beautiful. I'll be uploading the vids to youtube and thus on here as well within the next day or two, so stay on the lookout for em' Tight lines guys, and always remember CPR! Catch, Photograph, Release!
