Lake Quinsig
10/21/2012

Had an hour or so before the Pat's game yeasterday to do nothing, so I went down to Lake Quinsig and had my 3/0 hook turned into a PRETZEL.... I really thought it was my leader that snapped, I have gone back to lighter mono leaders for Carp, 12lb mono instead of the 15-17lb Flouro, Carp don't like that either. While tossing out my corn knee deep in the water, A rainbow trout swam bye me with a hook and line still in his mouth, quick as a Bear I snacthed that baby out with my bare hands. The people on the shore thought that was quite the trick, little did they know that in 5 minutes the main attraction would be swimming on thru. At 5 pm I had enough of nothing, put the First rod away then I hear that o so great sound, CLICK, off does my rod, line screaming at the speed of light, flip over the bail and away we go or should I say away I went, into the water hahahahahaha We did battle for about 5 mins, he came out of the water and we got to see all 3+feet of him what a beauty then the aweful sound of NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO RRRRRRRRRRRRRR Guess I should also say that they WILL straight out your hooks tooooooo Glad they are back in for their last run of the Fall. Plenty of Rainbows still being caught on Green Power Bait

Foggie as hell down the Lake this morning, and flat like a fresh scim of Black Ice was just made. Lots of leaves in the water made it interesting till the sun came up. Not alot going on early, 5ish or so, but around 6:16 that all changed. Bobbie (Kid that is usally there) showed up with his dad and rigged up for Rainbows. His choice of bait is Green Power Bait. They seem to LOVE IT!!!! He caught 6 Bows before 7am, all stocked but he was having a great time and then we noticed that the Carp had moved on in. Couple of Big splashes right out in front of us. Re Casted me rod and WHAAM Nice fight on a Smaller rod than I normally use for Carp 8 1/2 lbs not sure on length but the scale don't lie. Glad to see some action this late in the fall and what fun them Giants can be. But be warned, they can break your heart, your rod, your soul and everything else as long as your knot shooooooooting them DEAD..

Wachusett Res
10/13/2012

Nice and cold this morning at the Res. The wind shifted on us halfway down our walk at Scar Hill, thank God not a long walk at all, 6 mins, phew. Changed locations very fast and headed to the other side of the Res. Still a touch of wind, not that bad where we were, and away we go. I expected ICE on the Rod tips but no such luck, sorry Jwall. Those would of been the first pics posted. hahahaha We only had about 3 maybe 4 bites on Shinners, still could be a hair early for this spot wink wink 1 of the bites was a Loon, no question at all. This will make the 8th Loon I have messed around with since 2006 when I started fishing the Res. Thanks Gary As stated, The Eagle was out this morning, mature male, could see the White in the tail and on his Hood. What a sight for 10 - 15 mins. He leaves then we notice the Loon on near our baits, yup, we all know what happened next, my Rod is bouncing like a 8 yr old on a Gymborie. 8th Loon in 7 yrs, do they taste good? hahahahahaha kidding.. Then not very long after that we had another real bite, AEM Uncle, nice guy, Fish's the Res often himself, had a couple of bites but NO takers rrrrrrr We watched a Loon fight with a Comorant, they hate each other. The Loon is Bigger and dives under water to hit the Comorant in the belly. What a sound it makes hahahahahahahah So it was a great nature watching trip and not so great for fishing, but the company is always great Thanks guys We will get them next time

Salmon River Lake Ontario
10/5/2012 - 10/7/2012

Let's start out bye saying ZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZ ZZZZZZZZZZZZ That is the sound that your reel makes when the Kings are in!!!! 300 miles Pike to RT 481 to RT 81 to Rt 13 BINGO Stop at Woody Bait for some Floating Egg Sacks and away you go. Friday night the Bite was on. 5:30 - 9 We had 18 bites and managed 2 Kings, they are not that easy to catch at the Mouth of the River. Glow Sticks on the Rods made it look like a Star Wars movie in Full Battle Mode, Rods getting knocked out of the holders onto the ground and Glow sticks knocked off the rods with Scotch Tape on them!!! The Rain started about 2am and didn't stop until 9 am Sunday. Saturday was very tuff to fish with the Waves being 4-6 ft and the Rain hitting us sideways Great job guys sticking it out. Saturday night produced a few more bites with Starky hooking up and almost landing a Big King himself. It sounded like a Lion was trying to Eat him hahahahahahaha The Biggest King Landed was from Chris (Muskiesbrother) for the second straight year, Big Male, 41+ inches at 29 lbs He is the "Salmon King" Great job guys and way to work, this was no easy trip with the weather. The Food was great, Thanks to Swivelbait Dave, glad u came. Next year we are going 2 weeks earlier The run was still on but 2 weeks before hand they said it was "BIBLICAL"

Took AEM to the Rock, we owed him a gooood spot. The wind did it's best to make fishing interesting. The morning started about 625 am Webster Lake for bait, so glad we got new wadders, the kivas were shocked that we caught them hahahahaha 13 kivas in about 10 minutes. They get harder to find and catch this late in the year. Back to the rock about 7 AEM and Chris started right away, chris had bite on 3rd cast while AEM caught his first fish a couple cast after. AEM caught all his fish on Senko's He did catch 3 LMB in a spot we never cast in. hahahahahaha great job I myself caught 4 LMB all on Kivas, of course. Smallest being 1 1/2lbs up to 3lbs flat and Chris had bites on both Senko and Kivas with the Bigger bites on the Kivas We ducked the rain and had a great time with fellow members. Just like it should be

Catching Bait was slow slow on Sat morning, so we picked up a Doz + heavies from Chung at Hillside in Webster. The Kivas we caught didn't last long. Pow Pow Pow as soon as they hit the water. The Weird thing that happened with the Shinner's was 1 on a hook got you nothing, nadda, nyet. So I decided to put 2 on the same hook at the same time. Down Down Down goes the bobber, UNBELIEVABLE!!! 20 inches 5 3/4lbs The kicker is when we were out of live Bait we tried 3 Dead ones at the same time, same hook and POW, 2 3/4lbs 17 inches. Now we were officially out of BAIT. nothing on Plastic or Rubber. When the fish are around keep trying, sooner or later they will have to give in... hahahahahahaha

Our adventure began at Herbies in Worc. 5:40pm the A Team Van pulls up and off to the Bait Shop we go. We took BadLarry to our Fav. Bait shop (Left of the Ski Jump) at Webster Lake. We were in the water not waist deep, the water felt great also. We caught a dozen perfect size Kivas, jumped back in the van and off we go to Alcatraz...We fished from 7-9:15, just happened to be PRIME TIME. BadLarry caught 2 LMB biggest 2+lbs and he had 3 other bites. It takes a minute to get used to fishing with Kivas and a Bobber if you've never done it before. There were some Big fish that moved on in and were spooking the schools of crappie or white perch. I used a 10" Pondie that BadLarry caught in the river, used it dead, the way we like them. 15 mins later the line went out, dead bait don't move and neither do the weeds. No fish but a bite yes, Badlarry couldn't believe it hahahahaha It was a great time with my Brother and Badlarry as always, just waiting on the rest of the pics and thanks to MAFF for this AWESOME fishing site we all belong to. Hard not to go back, been leaving her alone in the Early Spring. Still not very Weedy or Padded, and the water is not flying over the falls. I got Bass Thumb from Muskiesbrother today and the Beating that I had comming. And then MB hooked up with a Large Larry and the line got wrapped around another line in the water that had been snapped off, and so went the Fish. Would of given him his limit and another Roll-Over Victory Nice Job!

Went To Burncoat Pond on Lincoln St. to do some early morning Carp/Bait fishing, with end result leaving with a couple Carp and Kivas for Bait. Well no Carp, plenty of Kivas and WIND. Arrive at our destination and No One else is there, it bites when people are where you would like to fish. Launch a couple of hand size Kivas out and wait, almost like deadsticking them in the weeds. Was thinking of checking my bait when the Bobber went in circles and DOWN. Thanks Muskiesbrother for the help..
