Windy White Caps and Beautiful
I met up with Ross (Centralmassfish) at the Ramp about 5pm, he was getting lose in the middle of the Pond when he swung on in. I asked for permission to Board and away we go, in the Wind tunnel hahahahaha

We find a less windy shore line and begin the evening.
As we are fishing, We notice a big White and red Bass Boat with the unmistakable logo: BOAG HOG BAITS

I know for a fact that Jwall is in Maine, I talked with him around 1:30pm so No way it's him. Nope, it's his cousin Sardine Hunter and his partner. We shoot the breeze for a minute, go threw the formalities and after learning who I am, he say's "Muskie, what the hell are you doing in a boat?" hahahahaha Aren't you a shore Warrior?

Yup, you caught me, in a BOAT hahahaha

I was using Watermellon Green with Red flakes and a Frog, while Ross was using blueish jig with a craw trailer and a Senko also.

The frog produced 6-8 bite / blow ups, which Ross called swings and misses Thanks Ross and his jig did get and land the only Bass we caught. He is a realy good caster, and thanks again for having me!!!!

Stump Pond is named that way for a reason, becareful on that body of water. I will be back, and will get me a few of their fresh water Crocks

Great time last night and I did get to tan my BALD head

Final score:

Ross 1 and Muskie 0

P.S. I think we were fishing for Esox...hahahahaha
so maybe it didn't count? hahahahaha

Took the boys out to Gate 8 Sunday, Cold and Foggie as hell when we got out there. So glad the wind was not around till about 7:30ish. Mark and AEM had bites right away with No fish, and myself and Dan just had a good time talking to each other. Now Badlarry, that's a different story, Poor guy has been trying for a solid year plus to land a fish, and as luck would have it, as he is picking up to goto work, his Pole almost gets ripped out of his hands. I watched the Rod bend in half and then the O so familiar sound, NOOOOOOOOOOO. We never saw the Fish but it was a Fish that pulled back!! There were some BIG Smallies crashing the Shore Line, no takers.

Mark missed a big Rainbow while casting around the bend and Couple of other people had caught a couple of 5lb lakers. Beautifull morning, glad you guys made the trip, even with my FLAT tire!!!!!!

I have begun my quest for the 40lb Carp, with Rod and Reel, speaking or Reel, I smoked another reel this am..RRRRRRR This was a matter of time, I was hooked into a 20+lb Carp this morning at 5:20am on the nose, great fight for about 7 mins, then the reel didn't work no more, made some funny sounds and then splash splash crunch crunch and away goes my Trophy. The bottom of the spool was in my hand and some guts also hahahaha I can Laugh, I knew it, glad wasn't Saturday at the Quabin, that may of had something to do with it.

I did manage a small Carp about 14 lbs and 30 inches before my reel went kerplunk. Glad they started to move in, been some long dark uneventfull mornings for the last month waiting on these babies. Woooooooo

This was my first trip to the Quabin, thanks so very much Darren. I am a Die Hard Wachusett Warrior, glad I gave her a rest on Saturday, and Congrats to Deaffisherman for Landing his first Laker at the Chu Saturday at Scar Hill
in my absence.

Arrive at Gate 43 5:30 am, 8 cars deep, most with boats.
6 Bucks to park and man this place is a Fishery, reminds me of Canada without all the cars in the lot AAY YUT

Fished from shore in the Horseshoe, lots of people watched us hammer Smallie after Smallie, cast after cast.

30 Smallies from 2 lbs up to 4 1/2 bs all beauties
All were caught on live crawfish

Side Note:The Smallies at Whacusett seem to have Bigger Tails for some reason, but the are just as FAT!!

Then when the Smallies needed a break we switched to Red power eggs and got 18-20 Rainbows, none that were tagged, all around 2 lbs and pretty fish

Fished from 6 am till noon time, great place to fish and even caught some sun on my bald head.. hahahahha

Thursday Night Fishing League started last night at the Sud. Beautiful night and the wind finally calmed down.

Met up with Badlarry about 6pm, after I crutched myself down the causeway, said what's up and handed him a Tall Twisted Tea and away we went. Slow on the causeway, couple of rises but no takers.

After an hour we move spots and that worked out alot better!!! Nice little spot that we will hit again, produced 3 LMB, and thankfully 2 of them were MINE!!!!

What a sight it must of been to see me climb down a 3 1/2 foot wall to land my not 3lb bass hahahahaha

We heard a Fish jumping under the road, and well you know what happened next, yup, Badlarry had a bite and the I nailed him, almost like deja vu.... I did it to Badlarry again, I caught his fish. hahahaha twice in the same week. Sorry Bro You'll do great tomorrow!!!!!

Final talley:

Muskie = 2
Badlarry = 1

Next week will be here also, already have 3-4 more guys, so come on out and say hello!!!

Brrrrr Glad the wind was up and over us this morning!!
Deaffisherman joined me at 4:30 am down the Lake for a couple hrs of Carp fishing. He's a great kid, he drove 1 hr to meet me and fish for maybe 2hrs dedication. He might still be there, give em hell Mark!!

4:45 we see the Muskrat swim bye and I tell him that as soon as we see that the Carp are usually right behind, and sure as snot, splash 6 ft out in front of us. No takers this morning, we did see a few big splashes, and either a Salmon or Brown was chasing the bait fish in the shallows. The next couple days look warm, I believe that when this fianlly happens the Bite will turn on!!

If anyone is looking to fish with someone, I would say message Deaffisherman, he will show up and Fish with ya. When he is not away at school.

Got an education on Carp Fishing this morning. Met Blackstone Carp around 4:30 or so hoping to spook up a couple Carp and shoot the breeze for couple hrs. No bites or fish, that's ok, they started showing them selves for the first time. As luck always has it, fish started jumping just about the time we need to go. RRRRRRRRRR
Thanks for all the great chat and tips!!!!

Blackstone:

Got a message last night from Muskie saying he'd be out this morning. Figured I'd tag along and see if the fish were moving yet. We've both fished this lake a lot, just at different spots and different times.

I knew it would only be a few hours so I tried to pack light, though to be fair that never happens. I still ended up with far more gear then I needed!

I took some boilies and chum in a bucket, my mat, chair, net and my rod bag.

I leave the house a bit after 4am, roll into the swim around 430 am. This red car pulls in behind me and the lot is still dark. They kill the lights and sit for a moment and I am thinking..I hope this is him, and not a repeat of my Flint pond outings. Anyone who frequents Flint pond knows what I am referring to ;).

Luckily i saw the crutches in the front seat and though, gotta be Muskie, the only guy heading out this morning in a cast...

So we do the meet and greet, then get down to it. I have to admit the man hops quite well with all his gear.

Over the next few hours we stood round, talking about this and that, old fish stories, encounters on the banks, why I have such a big rod..you know, the good stuff.

There wasn't much action till very near the end. I might be frustrated at a blank but to be honest seeing them come in is a good thing. Now we both know the fish are starting to move, which means the next few weeks could show some real promise. I look forward to getting out there again. Really glad i had a chance to meet up and get to know this guy a bit.

First trip of the year, Opening weekend at the Res. Cold and alittle SLOW!! We arrived at our spot before 4am and the Res was already buzzing. Around 4:30 the Boats were out checking the shore line for early birds!!! Glad we didn't jump the clock. Saturday the first bite and fish were landed at 5:30 am 4.3 lb laker 24 inches not bad. AEM had a few more bites and runs with 1 more Laker being taken. On Sunday we arrived at the same time and the same spot with the same results 1 bite and fish at 5:30 am 3+lb Laker 20+ inches better than nothing Eastciderider had a Big run around 715 and that was it. Nothing like last year, but its fishing not Christmas. Great job to everyone that landed fish, it will only get better from here. Keep your head up Badlarry, tomorrow is just a few hours away!!! hahahaha

Got a new Cast on thursday, not the one I wanted. Another non weight bearing cast, 6-7 more weeks of this. I haven't fished since Feb 13th, that changed this morning. I had an Old Sorel Boot that without the liner fits over my cast, perfectly, after adjustments hahaha
My wife caught me with the boot on and a s*** eating smile a mile wide. One quick call to Brooksy and we ready for the Lake. There were 3 Rainbows caught and some signs of the fish moving in, water still kold!! My rod did bend good one time, Corn don't swim, that was more than enough to get my heart and my ankle pumping. Sooooon. Side note: The Crew Teams have started up down the Lake for any of you Trollers.

Good and Cold today, wooooooo, not for the weak of heart out there. But we went out anyway, and talked BadLarry into going with us. The edge flexed just a touch and then we had 6+ and off we go. BadLarry hasn't been on the ice in a long time, the last person we took out for the first time (Bassinbrookys) had himself a pretty good day, and hoping the same for him on a pond that can be as quiet as the library. 10 min walk on the ice and the wind is already screaming, thank god for the Ice Cube. 13 holes later we head for the Cube. Didn't take long for the first flag to go up and off goes Badlarry, fly bye. rrrrrrr couple mins later, pow, another flag and I finally catch a Fish of any sorts from the Boag, small pikerel 18 maybe and that was how the morning went. We had 4 good spurts of action in 5 hrs. 20 Flags in total and 5 Fish. 4 Pikerel biggest 24 1/2 with a big head and 1 Crappie. Good amount of action for the Boag and on our way off the ice, Jimmie caught what we believed to of been a medium sized Pike. Every time Jimmie was in the Cube, we had a Flag. Thanks for playing in the Cold and Wind Badlarry and yes Spring will be here but not for a while. hahahahahaha. On a side note There was a Giant Brown caught and released at Comet today also I don't know the tale of the tape but I do have the pic, when I get the numbers i will updae it.

Been fishing the Boag hard for a couple weeks, seen some beautiful fish landed and released. For myself and my brother's, we have not caught or landed a keeper in Mass yet.. That all ended this morning!! Chris was close last week with a 27" 7lbs almost. We head out to the ramp at Flint about 630ish, wanting some light to make sure about the ice, the edge was tricky but safe. Didn't need the auger this morning due to the fact that yesterday there had been a bunch of people in this area. We find 10 BIG hand chopped holes, perfect, I have BIG BAIT. We get all set up and the Wind says Hello wow its is still howling. Almost blew the Ice Bear out of the Hole. hahahaha We ended up with 4 flags 3 fish 1 Pickerel 1 Yellow Perch and 1 (Esox Lucious) Northern Pike. 28 inches and finally a keeper on the board Congrats Chris!!! Great job. All the Pike we have seen or caught have come in less then 6ft of water. It's a sickness...

He tells me he is addicted to Fishing and asks "Me" if I still Fish. hahahahaha I put my rods away on Thanksgiving night, and quickly got them re ready for some SNOW FISHING in the morning. We caught a couple of bait sized fish, and if we had more time, would have put a couple of hooks in them. Small Yellow Perch and Very Small Carp. Couple of bites while casting and lots of Snow. It did take care of my Ice Fishing Fix for a moment. It was great to be out and to catch up on old times. Thanks again

Lot's of Rainbows again (6) and the Carp still hanging around with 2 bites and 1 Carp. Not the Little guys we've been catching but a bonafide Lake Quinsig Carp 24-4. What a fight No Net Glad I wear wadders, helped to cut the angle down on the fish. I yelled to the Guy fishing across the cove " Hey, in about 10 minutes can you come over here and take a picture of my fish" hahahahahaha might of taken 12 minutes. He has been waiting to see this for a couple of weeks now, PHEW, got that out of the way. The Perch was too big for Bait at the Res and not big Enough for a pin. Tomorrow is s a New Day. Carp Fever Catch it when you can
