Trout Fed (I Mean Stocked) Bass Ponds

I picked up a couple trout style swimbaits (Rage and a SPRO BBZ1) anticipating the trout stocking that is supposed to take place over the next few weeks. I was wondering if the bass feed on the trout... well I wonder no longer. They haven't even stocked Horn Pond yet, but the I think the bass are waiting for them.

The two I picked up were both in the 2 lbs range, and hit an 8-10 inch trout swimbait. I was a little surpised they were this small hitting a large swimbait. So looking forward to when they actually do stock the ponds, will have my my big SPRO BBZ1 out there. I am confident we'll see some 'lunk-a' come out.

Practiced a little with the SPRO BBZ1, people thought I was throwing rocks in the water.

  • As a side-note, I read that BASS will and can fit anything at least 50% the length of their body (if it represents a meal to them) in their mouths. Looking at your picture almost proves it 100%!
