It was a long day of work, so I thought to myself “what’s a better way to relax then to go fishingâ€Â. A little after 3p I headed to a small nearby lake. When I got to the lake, it was 55 degrees out and windy. The lake that is most of the time calm was now very choppy. I start my day throwing out bright green and yellow buzz bait, in hopes that the fish would hear the noise and/or at least see the color though the murky stirred up water. After a few cast while analyzing the environment, I decided it may be best to go to the bottom of the water where it is more calm. I then tossed out a .75 ounce Football Jig Bait. I was slowly retrieving my lure, jerking it often to give it some action then letting it sit at the bottom. On the second cast, all of my theories/analysis fell into place. I felt the hit on my lure, waited about two seconds, then set the hook. The fight began and with the correct drag and patients, I was able to land this 19†largemouth bass.
The ranking score is used to determine how "popular" a trip or location is. It is calculated based off of a weighted average of the number of reviews and the user ratings. For example, a trip with 2 reviews and an average rating of 5 will have a lower "ranking score" than one with 10 reviews and an average rating of 4. This is because even though the first trip has a better average rating, it has not been reviewed as much as the second trip, so it is not as "popular". In the future we may modify the ranking score to take in additional factors, such as the number of views, comments, and photos.
