Club tourny, overcast calm day 55- 68 degrees, with water temps 58 -63. Frog fishing was not working for me or my partner John K. Few fish chased or boiled up on these baits this week and the few that did nipped at the legs and failed to hook up. after a coupla hrs of that and no keepers to show for our efforts we resumed to fish shorelines on the main lake on the east side. Many small bass, rock and a coupla smallies were taken, with keeper largemouths hard to find.Best baits for me were a sidewinder worm water/red w/a 3/0 gami hook and rattle in the tail, as well as a kietech blk spidergrob w/a 1/16 jig head. 4 five fish limits caught by club, and everyone had something to weigh in. Fish averaged a pound and Eddies bag of 5.7 lbs took first, my bag of 5.5 lbs for 2nd, and Matts bag of 5.2 lbs for 3rd. Lunker for day was 1.85 lber. Great day on the water with our clubs newest member John K., as there was lots of bites and comfortable conditions.

  • It held up nicely for most of the day, but a bit before noon we got slammed and it rained with various intensity from then on.

  • Yea our tournys run to 3;00 pm, most of us were still out on the water within site of the ramp at 2:30. How did the MAFF tourny go? I was thinking of ya when the morning held off rain wise, but what an afternoon shower we had over in the Metrowest.

  • Johnny, were you the group of boats that were pulling out around 2.30pm? I think we crossed paths, I was headed out to check out the place for Sunday. I probably should have asked what worked and what didn't =)

    Nice job on placing!
