Ponki 8/24/12
A perfect summer Friday so I left work early and got to Ponki by 3:30. A fairly stiff breeze was blowing out of the northeast and the anchor was in use most of the day. Overall fishing was quite slow. I worked the western end of the pond hard, working the pads and weed mats. I kept switching between senkos, Booyah frog and my "go to" white spinner bait. Eventually I hooked into a 1.5lb bass on the spinner bait. After a few hours I decided to head to the opposite end of the pond. Along the way picked up a 2+lb in the white spinner bait. By the time I reached the easter shore the wind had died down. So I tied on a popper and BAM, first cast, a 3+lb bass. I worked the area for a while longer but the sun was fading fast and I didn't want to load up in the dark.
