Nine Mile Creek, a scenic stream noted for trout fishing, extends about twenty-five miles from Otisco Lake in the Town of Otisco, New York. Recently New York State has been stocking the creek with Atlantic salmon as well as trout. The stream runs northward through the villages of Marcellus, New York and Camillus, New York in the Town of Camillus, New York. The creek discharges into Onondaga Lake. The Solvay Process Company since the late nineteenth century until the late twentieth century deposited industrial waste near the creek and lake. Recent reclamation has significantly restored quality in the final stretch of the creek. Farther to the south, the State of New York maintains fishing access sites. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninemile Creek (Onondaga Lake)
The ranking score is used to determine how "popular" a trip or location is. It is calculated based off of a weighted average of the number of reviews and the user ratings. For example, a location with 2 reviews and an average rating of 5 will have a lower "ranking score" than one with 10 reviews and an average rating of 4. This is because even though the first location has a better average rating, it has not been reviewed as much as the second location, so it is not as "popular". In the future we may modify the ranking score to take in additional factors, such as the number of views, comments, and photos.
