Maspy Fishing Report
Maspy July 28th
Windy day. A weird one though. I started off having no luck from the boat ramp to the back left side of Maspy. Then around some large rocks along the shore, I decided that would be an excellent area for bass to hang out. Casted there and my line just starts darting to the left. "Damn, a pickerel I think" I said. But no, it felt like heavy weight in that sort of way a bass does when they inhale your bait. It surfaced and it was a decent smallie! Due to the fact I am obsessed with smallmouth bass, my heart started beating fast until I landed it in the kayak. Looked to be over a pound and developing the "tiger like" strips on its side (never caught one as large as this to see the strips).
After that, I got only a wicked small largemouth bass and an OK one.
