Long Pond 4/30
1st club tourny of season. Overcast day temps 40s to low 60's, with water temp 58 -63. Went right to the horseshoe and spent 1 1/2 hrs with nothing but shorts. High dark water was extremely tough to see beds, but spent the time there thinking the spawn was well under way. next shot over to the bayou down the creek. saw many 3-4lb bass jumping in the incredibly thick brush cover, but way to thick to cast into. Another 1 1/2 hr wasted. Fished various spots along the west shoreline as the wind settled down a little bit. Caught 11 short bass, 12 frying pan size calicos ( 2lb + size!), and one keeper 3lber. At weigh in found 1st place to go to Al who Stayed in the Horseshoe all day, 2nd place to eddie, who caught 3 3lbers in the bayou early, and 3rd place to Jarrod who also hung in the Horseshoe. Seems as though I had the right places in mind, but not the patience to hang in there on either spots.
