Guide Trip For Girl And Her Father!!

When I was fishing with this girl at last Monday, she was immediately called his father to come down to Rochester for some salmon fishing actions after she told her story about last Monday. She was very thrilled to just catch three and her biggest fish in lifetime. However, she wasn’t satisfied about her biggest fish because I was one who hooked it up for her. She made it as her mission to hook up it for herself! So, she wanted me to be her guide for this Saturday. In which, I told her that I can do that for her and her father too.

I was out partying hard and almost forget about guide trip at 6am. So, I texted her that I can’t able to drive anywhere since I was drinking then she come to pick me up at 6am. Then we drove to the spot and arrived at 7am. Her father was arrived just moment when we was parked the spot. Then we were getting ready and rigged our rods to go.

Her father walked toward me, give me the ammo box. I was puzzled and opened the ammo box. It was contain the book called “fishing for trouts” and package of survival first aid. He said it was for taking my daughter to go fishing at last Monday. I told him that it was no problem and glad that I can help her in fishing. Also, thanks for the gift. He was grateful about it. Then told me that he will pay me 50 bucks for “IF the girl and her father can catch more than 10 salmon between them..” I told him to keep his money and if you actually pay that rate, you probably will lose over several hundred dollars for today. He was actually surprised from what I just told him. Her daughter was explained her father that I was pretty skilled fisherman and fished for anything that ran into my path.

Then after that, her father was waiting for something while girl and I were ready to walk down to the river. Until the girl told me that her father was invited one of his buddies that fished salmon for every year. So, her father want to see how good he is compare with me. I laughed about it and told girl that I have been fishing whole life. Nobody has beaten me well. Also, at some point, some people has better luck than I am and able to beat me for the day, not daily! Father’s buddy was arrived at 7:15am.
At 730am, we was at my secret spot that contain a lot of fish! Since all fish need to go through this spot before able to spread around the river. We saw a lot of salmon was jumping around the river! GOOD SIGNS!!!!! Before we can begin fishing, I had to show her father, how to fish in the river for salmon. On my first cast, BOOM!!! First salmon for the day! Her Father was shocked! Then I had to explain him how bobber play huge role in this area of river. Her father was followed my method and finally hook up salmon after probably 10-15 casts! But losing it! Few casts later after the losing fish, he able to land it! He was really exciting about it!

I left her and father to see what father’s buddy is doing. He was in middle of battling with salmon; I ran over and help to net it. He was land it and I tried to unhook the hook. I couldn’t find the hook so I follow the line that tangle the fish. I found it was hooked into top of fish’s fin. (I was puzzled how it is possible that hook is stuck on top of fish’s fin.) Then I released it back into river and wait to see how this guy fished. Immediately noticed that after two casts, he was attempting snagging the fish while flyfishing, and I told him that he need to stop snag the fish. Because it is not ethical way to fish and where is the fun of it to fish? He told me that salmon is in spawning mode and salmon are not biting. I told him that he is right about salmon is in spawning mode but they DOES need to eat sometimes at some point during spawning mode. He was like shush me away then processed more snagging but failed to snag it. I saw one nice salmon swim nearby me. So, I yelled to him and said, watch me. After between 7-10 casts later, I was able to hook up this salmon and net it. I showed him that my hook was perfectly hooked on salmon’s mouth. He said that was completely b*lls**t and pure luck to made that hookset. After that, I landed another 11 salmons front of him. He was completely angry about it.

After 11 salmons, I decided to walk upstream to check on the girl and her father. I can see her father was failing the hook set on salmon. I explained him about bobber tips and how to notice it instantly that it is hook up before bobber got any action to show that it was hooked. He tried it and landed next three salmon front of me while I was netting all of them for him.

Then I felt bad for this girl because she couldn’t get any bites. So, I spend an hour to encourage her and explain her when to strike the hookset. She followed each of my command until she finally got great hookset! She was super afraid to lose this fish after saw this salmon jumped out of water. It was legitimate nice fish for sure! I was prepared to net it. However, she battled for it at 45 minutes and 11 screamer run before salmon was finally tired out!! I netted it really fast before salmon could make another screamer run! She was wicked thrilled about this fish! Because she was able to do everything for herself! But it is not all, it is her another personal best fish again!!! Tipped at 18 pounds! (Remember, her personal best was 15 pounds at last Monday in my report.) But it was almost completely black color skin!!! I got little jealous because it was beautiful black salmon! Until I saw one black salmon swam past my feet!!! I fish it so hard that salmon won’t bite!! After spending 30 minutes, this AQUAMAN MADE this black salmon bite!!! I land it so quickly! Took picture ops on this fish and released it back! Now, I felt better because I kept my blackest salmon title!!!! LOL

Anyway, the girl and her father processed many more salmons during the day! Until I hooked up one salmon, I was almost laterally pooped my wader because this salmon has serious size teeth! I am not kidding you! It was between 3/4 - one inch long! I was very afraid to lose this salmon! (Remember, I was using 4 pounds line.) That’s why I was super carefully than what I am normally does. I was able to land it! It was unreal!!! I took many pictures to just take one perfect picture of it. I named salmon aka JAWS!!!!

The result of the day:

Total 72 salmons were caught between three of us!
The girl – 17 salmons (biggest fish of the day is 18 pounds)
Her father – 24 salmons (big fish is 16.2 pounds)
Me – 31 salmons (big fish is unknown due not taking the weight)
Father’s buddy – I don’t care and not even bother to count any of his fish at all.

The girl and her father kept their limit of 3 salmons while I kept two salmon to give them. Also, they just told me that they weight all of them and count all weight. It was 8 salmon = 132 pounds. Therefore, average weight is 16.5 or so.

Her father gave me 50 bucks and hugged me to tell me that he was grateful that I was their fish charm and able to guide for them at today. I hand him the money back since I felt it wasn’t right thing to do. He insisted me to keep it. I said, no. He walked to my wader and thrown money into wader then told me that money is only for your gas money to going the spots and able to continue fishing. So, I accepted it. They are nice people except this father’s buddy!

p.s. this is my fourth time attempting to post trip on here. Sorry for messed up or can't able to post pictures on this trip! (Maff website told me that I did violated the term of policies, in which, I didn't break any of it.
