Went out to a spot that is usually not fishable except in the winter for two reasons: 1. Weeds - a decent hike in and not many shore spots 2. Its known as the local Pickle Pond...not a place a guy like me needs to be around during the warm months...we'll leave it at that.
Anyways...got out there and set up by 9:30 and proceeded to have pretty constant action all day. I actually ran out of shiners around 12:30 so ended up packing it in. I had a LOT of flags today..unfortunately I missed a bunch of fish, but the ones I did connect were pretty good. 4 Pickerel, smallest at 17", the rest over 20", and the biggest was 22 1/2". 2 small keeper bass also. Despite the fact that traffic on 93 was whipping by only a few yards away, the weather was nice and the fishing was pretty hot.
The ranking score is used to determine how "popular" a trip or location is. It is calculated based off of a weighted average of the number of reviews and the user ratings. For example, a trip with 2 reviews and an average rating of 5 will have a lower "ranking score" than one with 10 reviews and an average rating of 4. This is because even though the first trip has a better average rating, it has not been reviewed as much as the second trip, so it is not as "popular". In the future we may modify the ranking score to take in additional factors, such as the number of views, comments, and photos.
