Fosters Pond 7/27/13

Since I never registered the Bass Hunter this year and I can't get my new boat in here I haven't fished Fosters before today. Thanks to Sam and his 12' tracker I was finally able to hit it.
Sam picked me up around 5:30am. We hit dunks, ran every red light and stop sign and got to the launch area around 5:45.
Being electric only really lets you fish thoroughly. We started chucking around buzzbaits, frogs, jigs and of course I was cranking. I got a crappie, pickerel and a blue gill in the first half hour. No bass. Then Sam gets one on the frog. And then some more on the frog. And then on a jig and then he caught so many fish that I don't even care to speak about it. He was on fire. I'm pretty sure he out fished me 4-1. I was especially concerned that he even out buzzed me. I almost flipped us to end the misery. 99% of the fish we got were up tight to cover so Sam had the teabag (casting over a branch to dunk his bait) going in full effect. It's awesome to see fish come up for that frog that's barely touching the water. It would have been nice to see them hit mine doing exactly the same thing. Apparently the Fosters Pond fish were pissed at me for not catching them and getting them on video for a year.
Anyway, I got a bunch of fish on the jig but nothing work taking pics of. Sam doesn't smile. Gonna have to work on that. Oh ya and he threw a SENKO!

  • Keep trying Tate!!! Sam makes it look easy. I went out yesterday at a different pond and was determined to do it. Caught my first fish within the first half an hour like that. It was just a one pounder and it hit the frog 3x before I could get a hook set but it was gratifying

  • Sounds like a great day on the water, good for you guys! A few years back I bought a DVD from the mid 60's called Man's Favorite Sport. Real funny movie about fishing. The best scene was when Rock Hudson tossed a lure over a branch and had the tourny winning fish come out of the water for it. I've been trying to catch one that way but no luck yet.

  • Ya keep the buzz to yourself! I got a big mouth. I was just kidding about front of the boat. But I'll take it. We'll probably flip over while switching spots

  • i just didn't want to say the word "buzzbait." next time you can take the front and i'll get to sit down all day.

  • Sam is a bass whisperer.

  • Haha, idk why; but the "we ran every stop light and stop sign" made me laugh so hard for w/e reason. Great trip man!

  • I'll fix that. Fun fishing is fun!!! You talked about the senko all day like we were doing a commercial. Don't be embarrassed that you love senko

  • i'm all business all the time. good to see this place still gets tons of traffic. 5-6 boats before 7 am...crazy.
