First Trip To The CHU!!!!! With Muskie!

Got there around 5. Stuck it out till 9.
No body was catching fish. So I grab bass rod. Walked around to the cove.
10lbs test power pro. With a white wacky rig senko.
I got to the end of the cove and saw 3 big bass swimming.

2 left . The bigger one hung around.

I stared at my lure 3 times. Came right up to it. And "nosed" it.
It swam over it a few times. And I even bumped it with my lure. No hit. Fustrated. I walked back to the group.

They were packing up. So me and deaffishermen packed up. And walked to the point.
I grab my shiner rod ad went back to the last known location of the bass. I saw it along the shore.

I pitched my shiner to it. Wham! Missed the. Fish.

He turned a round and nailed hit! Great fight!

Landed a 4.13lbs largemouth!!!!!!!!

  • Ha ha I think maybe I am just not quite enough!I have unfortunately never fished in a boat with even a fish finder lol all pure site and instinct on where fish should be sure do wish I had a picture of what the bottom structure looks like other than bumping lures off it and guessing.

  • yeah its funny how all my personal bests and just majority of my keeper sized fish in general have all come from shore fishing lol. i love taking the boat out and its cool to get out in the water to places where you cant reach from shore and i especially love watching the down imaging on the sonar screen to see what the floor looks like on an area i always shore fish from cause it gives me a better idea of whats down there and how to better fish it but ill be damned if i can manage to catch as many good or even decent fish from a boat as i do from land lol.

  • Brooksy you know what I've had the same problem.Have usually done well at Chauncey from shore last yr while waiting for my friend to arrive with boat caught a nice 3lb bass right off boat ramp.Didn't catch another thing all day and he caught one dink hit all the spots they should have been it is weird like that sometimes.

  • Nice job guys wish I could have come but at least you can't blame my curse on lack of fish this time ha ha.She is beautiful lake but like a beauties she can be a real stuck up B@#$% sometimes ha ha
