|Details:||After spending the last few weeks checking ponds, waiting for ice, and reading up on all the new crap that is going to make this ice fishing season "awesome", the day finally came where I was able to take out the gear, and hit the lake!
Got to the pond, found 3" of clear ice covered in a little snow all over the lake. The water was shallow and its been cold, so this pond is locked up solid. Definitely weird walking on the clear ice, someone referenced it as "having a Jesus walking on water complex". Anyways, cut a few holes, found the lake more shallow than I expected, but decided to set up regardless.
Pretty slow day, fished 9-12, with a few false flags, and only 1 real one. Landed a 17" pickerel, nothing huge, but at least I was not shut out!
