Finally! It's Been A While.

I've been fishing ever since I've seen pockets of open water. Just about every day, I take my dog Penny for a run in the woods/lake, and ove course, I bring a rod. I've tried everything from slow rolling crankbaits, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, worms, etc. I haven't had a bite in over a month. Today I tied on a blue and black bitsy flip jig with a black paca craw trailor, and flipped it all over the place. Got nothing at all my usual spots, untill I hiked down the shoreline quite a ways. This is a spot I have fished a few times, but it's a PIA to get to. It paid off with the first cast. I threw the jig out in front of a big lay down, twitched it a few times, and finally got that feeling I've been looking for for over a month. It whacked it. I can't tell you how good it felt. I set the hook and got it in. Looked to be between 2 to 3 lbs. Somewhere in that range. It had that jig so far down it's throught I could barely get it out. Hopefully this is a sign that they might be moving up shallow again. I fished for about 15 more minutes, but got nothing. This must be what a drug addict feels like after getting high, because now I need to do it again. You know what I mean.
