Wakefield MA Fishing Report
Dec 20th Monster Pickerel
I got out for an hour today between 2:30 and 3:30 at my local honey hole. I pitched a jig out in front of a tree and got a thump. I knew it was a big fish from the violent hit. I set the hook and the fight was on. I thought I had another big bass, but to my suprise it ended up being a monster pickerel. This thing had shoulders. Great fight. I moved down the bank to another spot and ended up landing a fat little bass on a creature bait and a shakey head. It had a crawfish in it's gullet. You can see how big it's gut is for such a short stumpy fish. He definetly had the feedbag on.

After measuring the rod where the fish was it's actually close to 28 inches. The rod is a 7.6 foot TFO flippin stick.
