Charles River, Dedham Rt. 135 Fishing Report

Charles River, Dedham, 7/12/2012

Made it an early Friday at work and hit the Charles around 4 until 7:30. Boated a bunch of nice bass using a 1/8 oz white spinner bait. It seemed that there were fish everywhere you'd expect them to be, in the slackwater, the deadfall, and amongst the roots. The 1/8 oz spinner bait was the perfect size but the wire gauge was too light and eventually the willow blade fell off the first one and a big fellow broke off my backup. I was able to boat one more bass on a larger spinner bait. By that time I had reached Motley Pond and the water quality deteriorated. The water in the Charles is getting pretty low but it is remarkably clear upstream of Motley. All in all a very productive few hours.

  • Where is the access point to get into the Charles in Dedham?

  • Nice fish, looks a little hard taking a picture of a fish on a scale, you can see the weight but dont get a good look at the fish.
