Charles River 7-10-10 Fishing Report
My second tournament for the club I'm in. Fishing was pretty slow today. Topwater frog bite was off so I went to the spinner bait...nothing. Tossed senkos for awhile...nothing. It was insanely hot and sunny with 0 wind. I probably should have changed tactics earlier but didn't. Finally put on the jig n pig and was pitching into cover an got this lunker. It was exactly where it was supposed to be. At first it seemed like it was going to be bigger since it was so wide but it didn't have a lot of girth. A little over 19" though...Solid fish. The only other fish I caught that day was a dink on a Gold / Black Rapala Husky Jerk. The clouds, wind and down pours came after the tournament. Too bad we didn't get that before it.
