Canton Reservoir 5/5/12
My first trip ever to Canton Res and I used it to shake down the new Ascend D10 kayak. Launched at Pleasant Street and rowed out a bit. Attached a brand new rattle shad and BAM, first cast I was into a nice big pick. Turned out to be the largest fish of the day. Over the course of 5 hours I paddled my way around the perimeter of the pond throwing crank baits, soft rubber, top water and getting strikes on all of them, but only 2 smallish bass. Lots and lots of small picks and black crappie, very large black crappie with a few aggressive sunnies thrown in. All in all, lots of fishing action and quite a variety of different locations to test our your techniques.
The only bad thing was that I left behind my brand spankin' new lip gripper with integrated scale that I shelled out $44 for. Used if for one trip. I'm sure some other fisherman is counting himself lucky for finding it. Oh well....
