Almost Got Chu'ed

Met Muskie and Aem at B&A at 5!
Lines in by 6 am!
Fished till 9ish! Nothing couple hits!
2 lakers were caught on spoons by some guys fishing next to us!

I refused to leave with out a fish today! I took me a log time!
I hit a spot I had fished before! It was brutal out there! It was cold and windy! Saw one guy land. A 3 lbs smallie!! He had 2 lakers on a stringer!

I was tried cold and hungry! Hit a quick mart for some coffee and a sandwich! The. Drove around looking for new spot!

Fished by some railroad tracks! No fish here! I was ready to give up! And it was about 330! Saw some guy walking back.asked him how he did! Nothing! Slow day! He was going for salmon!

He showed me a spot! And said they were jumping in that area! I said my last spot! Drove over to it!
Used small shiners and spoons!

Caught 5 pickerels, 4 largemouth and 1 perch!
Biggest was a 1.14lbs largemouth!

Every time I hooked into something I thought I had a salmon! But it was always a damn pickerel!
Hooked into 2 fish on spoons! Thinking/hoping they were salmon but they were bass and pickerel!

  • I may be in for a down to dusk trip again! Not sure! I was exhausted!

Lakers 1st light then salmon after!!!

    I'm
    Coming prepared for battle

  • great luck to you guys, maybe our paths will cross..

  • My friend Sean and I will be up there on Sunday from first light until 3pm. We plan on hitting some spots for salmon first and then seeing if the smallies are ready for some jerkbait action.

  • If you guys want a salmon, you should really be focusing on the river, brooks, and creeks and the basins before them in the lake. The salmon are staging to spawn right now. After a big rain they will start to push into the tributaries.

  • Badlarry - man, you definitely need only one laker to cross it off!!! STAY THERE UNTIL YOU GET ONE!

Bassturds - I agreed with badlarry that this CHU is same as GO BIG OR GO HOME fishing.

  • Haha! My shiners are still alive!!!
    I'm catchin more for Sunday!!!!!

  • there aint no boats there hahahahahah sssshhhhhhh

  • Thinking those will do well at the ramp. Wind stays the way it's forecasted and that's where I will be!

  • my crawfish are still alive!!!

  • Yea I here ya! If it wasn't cold and windy with a better laker bite I would of fished for them a little longer!
    I drove 1hr 40min I'm not leaving with out a fish
I need to scratch salmon and lakers off my list!
