4/28/13 - Lake Booooooone - Fishing, Friends, BBQ

I had the pleasure of fishing with Kevin today(Chevin37). Hit up Boone with the plan of fishing for some bragging rights, then chowing down of some burgers, and dogs. Washed down with some suds, what great day it was. Weather was great, many laughs had. Fishing was tough though. Bass are in that in between prespawn/spawn funk. Kevin and I both caught about 8 Bass each, with 3 Keepers for each of us. Most of my were on a senko, Kevin had a mix. Our best 5 was a tick under 6lbs. Not much for size today. Top bragging rights went to a 9+lb bag, an 8+lb right behind that, with a 3lb lunker, and a bag that was 7-1/2+lbs were ahead of us. Boone was a stingy b**** today! Till next time boys!

  • Kman, that's some
Funny s*** you said right there about a slow day! Pocket fisherman , damn I'm glad your alright brotha !!

  • Shawn, honestly I had a bananna that I was going to take and eat in the morning, but based on what everyone else kept saying about it being bad luck, I elected not to take it with me. Then again I could've gotten it in the eye, so maybe it was good luck afterall not bringing it?

  • ouch...that sounds brutal.

  • See what happens when you don't allow bananas on the boat?

  • LOL, I know you care cuz. We are blood after all and I showed mine for real last Sunday. I was about 2 minutes away from leaving, but the hook finally "popped".

  • despite what he thinks, I was concerned for him. He told me he was hooked and I just thought his finger or something. I turn around and his lure is hanging from his bottom lip. I look closer and there is no barb in sight. He has blood all over his chin.

He cuts the line and starts working on it. There was not much I could do to help him.

If we had to leave I would of done so understandingly. He finally managed to get it out without having to push it through. The bleeding stopped eventually.

I've done many things to pass the time on a slow day, but I have never tried to eat my lures.

  • Ouch good that you are ok.

Nice job in the T fellas.

  • I was trimming the extra line from a freshly tied on KVD 2.5 square bill with my teeth. I was keeping the line between the lure and my other hand tight and the lure slipped! Ziiip, right into my bottom lip as I turned my face away real quick, but not quick enough apparently. It went past the barb, but not through the lip entirely (which I almost wish it did, so I could just snip the barb off). I cut the line from the lure with snips this time (d'uh) and my KVD square bill was a lip piercing for about 25 minutes. I finally worked it out past the barb, ouch! Kman was too busy laughing at me to think about taking a pic. Just as well. So there you have it Sam!

  • i think i missed this entire story

  • It was a little sore, but yeah it would have been!
