Lake Boon - Hudson, MA Fishing Report

4/27/14 - Tourney/BBQ @ Lake "Pave It!"

Over the last couple years with our group, we do a couple tournaments a year, more based around BBQing after. Basically morphed into a bi-annual Tourney/BBQ, one early spring, and one in the fall. Today was one of those days. The weather was a little cranky today, with air temps barely reaching 50 by the afternoon. Periodic rain showers, coupled with wind made it a little uncomfortable at times. Water temps were 52-55. Boon fished very small today. Most spots Chuck and I would fish were already picked over multiple times. Lots of small fish! We grinded it out, catching many shorts, picking up a keeper here or there, with no real pattern coming together for us. I caught rats on jigs early, cranks, and worms. It was a struggle for most, but a couple teams found them as always.

The results were:
1st. Morefish/Bass Hunter - 5 Largemouth @ 8.86lbs - 2.20lb big fish
2nd. Northshore - 5 Largemouth @ 8.38lbs - 2.16lb big fish
3rd. Bite Me - 5 Largemouth @ 6.76lbs
4th. Smoke City - 4 Largemouth @ 6.14lbs - 3.20lb Tourney Lunker
5th. Arrogant Slobs - 4 Largemouth @ 5.24lbs
6th. Angry Landlords - 4 Largemouth @ 4.08lbs
7th. Boom - 2 Largemouth @ 1.94lbs
No weight - R & R, Bigassinmouths, Bag-A-Bass, Po' Boys, Why Not Now.

Now for the best part! The food everyone brought was so good. Burgers, Dogs, Steak Tips, Sausages, Wings, Potato, Pasta Salads, Chips, Snacks, and Desserts. I think I'm still full! Good seeing everyone as always!
